Losing her parents at a young age, Calypso and her baby sister were given to a close relative, which was rarely around. Due to such, she had to raise her sister alone, and eventually dropped out, ran away with her and got a job to support them.

She helped her sister get into school and raised her like a mother; up until the day Sarcel found interest in a boy. Calypso was iffy about him, but enjoyed seeing her sister happy, and thus supported it. When her sister was accidentally killed, she sank into a depressive rage, nearly killing her murderer in return before she ran off.

Now completely alone, she vowed to find a way to bring her sister back. On her way to find it, she met Seth, a necromancer, which offered her some of his powers in exchange for a lifetime of services. Calypso agreed without hesitation and went back to her town to her sister's grave, only to find her already alive with the help of magic. Overjoyed, she then decided to use her powers to protect Sarcel, even if it meant summoning beasts to people.
