Ba'al

• He can be drawn as a human or in his shifted form.
• His species is very tall, he's about 7 ft. in human form.

Ba'al is a mischievous and playful man with a debilitating fear of responsibility. He has a lackadaisical view of the world and doesn't really like to feel contained or restricted to any one thing. His whims tend to change on a dime and he tends to be quite easily distracted at any given moment. He prefers a lifestyle "on the wind", with the freedom to do as he pleases, which has resulted in his eternal struggle in a concious effort to avoid being saddled with expectations he doesn't want. To the point of aggressive avoidance of anything that would cause him to be held to any specific standard regardless of his own views on the subject. 

He's a very curious man, often speaking in riddles, and secretive about his origins and what he really wants. This is not only for his own safety, but also so that he can avoid people getting attached to him. He's quite aware of his unreliability and as such does take the measures to prevent connections deeper than a vague aquaintanceship.

He's very clever, and has to be in order to avoid getting caught by the hired hands of his father seeking to bring him home. Despite being a bit lazy and whimsical- you could never say he wasn't smart, as he's incredibly bright. He's witty, and his best asset is by far his silver tongue and his ability to weasel out of trouble using his charisma and convincing way of words.

The root of his insecurity about being king and responsible for others lies in a deep self loathing. He had a very difficult childhood with a mother who convinced him he would never live up to his father's name and dismissed his existence as a waste of time. This stemmed from her desire that his younger brother would take the throne, but Ba'al lie in his way to the monarchy, and so his mother attempted to manipulate him into stepping down from this role. Which- he did. However, his mother didn't count on his father being stubborn and refusing to let his son escape his due duty. 

He is generally confident and though he takes care of himself first- he isn't averse to helping others. He has a good heart, but is held back by a fear of letting other people down. 

Willow is the only strange exception to this. 

From birth Ba'al had the world on his shoulders, with plans to take the throne of his father of his home country of Lumusian. He was raised by a father who had high expectations for him, and a mother who berated him and his abilities at every turn. The people looked to him for guidance and as a prince, and he was pushed into training and learning the lessons of the nobles at an early age. He was trained for this, but he was convinced it was not his destiny. 

As such, it was little surprise to most of the castle or his people when just before he was to take his father's place- he fled the kingdom and set to a life of wandering. A runaway prince, he's currently travelling the world doing everything in his power to avoid being caught and dragged home by mercenaries and soldiers seeking to return him to his father, and avoid the hefty bounty on his safe return to his kingdom.

He eventually meets, and falls in love with Willow, who helps him find solace with himself and his position in life, and helps him learn to appreciate things and make his own expectations to follow. He isn't sure if he's yet ready to risk returning, especially without her- but he's slowly learning the meaning of honor in a way he didn't understand before.
