Granville, commonly known as Gran, is a relatively dry character. He is serious and strict, and more often than not a perfectionist. He is, however, understanding and humble. Being a father of three and someone who did not live an easy life, Gran grew to be wise and kind in his own way to those he deems deserving of it. He offers jobs to those he knows are desperate for job and spares some food for those that are hungry. His actions speak more than the dry and short spoken words he speaks.
Trivia
- He owns Gran's Grand Cuts, a butchery located in the Lower District.
- The scars on his arms are the remnants of his life growing up, as a bounty hunter, and as a butcher. It's a miracle he hasn't chopped a finger off.
- His wife, Cordelia, often visits the shop and is acquainted with Ulf. Unlike her gruff husband, she is bright and kind. She reminds Ulf of Tink.
- He never goes to Portguard, since it brings back bad memories for him. If you bring it up, he'll change the subject.
History
Originally a Portguard native, Gran lived in fairly harsh conditions in the first few years of his life until he was old enough to live on his own. He was a bounty hunter for a little over a decade until he met his wife. Wanting a normal life, he dropped the life of a hunter, married and wasted no time in starting a family and a business.
His relationship with Ulf is that of boss and employee, and perhaps also of father and son. He met Ulf while he was desperate for a job after he learned that hunting was a dangerous task in this world, taking him in as his apprentice and teaching him the ropes of the job. He trusts Ulf enough to leave him on his own at the shop.
