ABILITIES
- (1, once per combat) Don’t Poke the Bear: Bashar can change from his bear to human form at will, but transforming too many times consecutively starts to hurt. It is important to rest between each transformation. (once per combat applies to transforming into and out of bear form. he can only do this once without hurting himself and there needs to be at least an hour between transformations.)
- (1) Stop! Hammer Time: After throwing his hammer, it comes back to him for another possible attack (double attack).
- (1) Bear Hugger: Bashar squeezes opponents to death. Just kidding, not to death. Advantage on restraining w/ both arms. Applies restrained condition to who he is holding, slowly deals damage each round if DC 17 strength roll not succeeded. Cannot use ability when wielding weapon.
- (3) Hi Hungry, I’m Dad: Bear dad leaps into the air for a downward strike. If hitting the ground, a wave of force blasts out upon impact (10ft radius). Anyone caught in the blast must make a DC 18 strength save to prevent being pushed.
- (1, once per round) Bear with Me: Healing option, bear dad gives himself or an ally a rejuvenating snack to help boost their stamina (probably something with honey). +5 stamina when consumed.

Personality
⊞ POSITIVE
- patient
- kindhearted
- nurturer
⊟ NEGATIVE
- forgetful
- distrusting
- clumsy
Bashar is a warm hearted, kind man who sees the good in everyone. He is a comforting soul, and is an excellent listener. He will always be there for those who need a rather large shoulder to cry on. Being a bear, he is a nurturer, and is very protective of people he cares about. Bashar has a long fuse, and is quite patient. However, he can also a bit lazy, and can be grumpy if people wake him up from his naps. This especially applies when he has spent time in his bear form for a while. While being very charismatic, he takes a while to adjust to new environments, and can often be forgetful of certain things about the places he lives. He does not take to change well, and prefers for things to just come easily.
Trivia

- His favorite foods are Palak Paneer (spinach and cottage cheese), Murgh Makhani (butter chicken), and Chicken Tikka Masala. And Naan bread, of course, Naan with everything.

- Cooking: Bear dad likes to cook, and is quite good at making a variety of foods. He likes to try out new recipes.
- Survival instincts: being a bear comes with some upsides- he knows how to survive in the wild.
- Caretaker: if you are in trouble or need some help, Bashar is always willing to patch up any problems. He is also very diligent, and puts his best effort into all he does.
Weaknesses
- Forgetful: Bashar has a bit of a short-term memory problem. Just small things- names, grocery lists, etc.
- Older bear: His age makes him more susceptible to creaky/stiff joints, and makes moving a bit harder. Kind of goes in tandem with the forgetful aspect.
- Size: Sometimes being big isn’t the best- Bashar has a hard time fitting through doorways, and needs to get all his clothes custom ordered.
History
Bashar was born into a family of bears in India, living deep in the jungles for a majority of his life. A bear’s life is generally easy - plenty of things to eat, lazing about with one another and enjoying the sunshine. As a cub, he lived very easily with a caring family and plenty of siblings. He decided to go off on his own, having a very relaxed and carefree lifestyle. He met his friend Bagheera, a black panther, after having traveled around the jungle a little. Much of his life was spent in relaxation and peace, having little troubles to worry about.
Bashar soon took interest in the lives of men, finding them interesting and becoming curious about their ways. He visited a shaman, who granted him the ability to shift between the forms of man and bear. By using this, he could now interact with man villages he came across. During his time with some of the humans, he learned of their customs, and their FOOD. And oh boy, did he love the food. He learned how to cook, and took an interests into clothing and other various human ways. Bashar made many friends along his journeys, and would visit familiar villages often.
One day, when coming across a new place, there was panic and chaos in the village he had found. Going to help, a woman approached him with a bundle of cloth, begging him to take it and run. Of course, he accepted to help the woman, unknowingly carrying a child in his arms as he ran off into the jungle.
This child would be known as Mowgli, and was given to a wolf pack to be raised. Bagheera had scolded him for being irresponsible and making a rash decision, but still appreciated Bashar’s bravery nonetheless. “You can’t keep it, Bashar, it belongs to the men. It will be protected, but when it grows, it must return to its home.”
Bashar was not very happy with Bagheera’s decision, but accepted it, letting the boy be raised by the wolf pack, but still staying close and watching over the boy, eventually coming to love him as his own child. Mowgli grew, of course, as children do, and the jungle was shaken by a terrible presence. Shere Khan, a Bengal tiger, had attacked the village, and was looking for revenge against the man cub for the death of his own family. Bashar would not allow the boy to be hurt, and knew he would be safer in a man village than in the jungle.
On their journey to return him home, Shere Khan attacked, and Bashar fought him off. The battle was bloody, and both sides parted with wounds. But, the boy was safely returned to a new home, where he could better be taken care of.
Years passed, and Mowgli grew up alongside many of the children in the village, eventually having his own family. However, Shere Khan had not been dealt with permanently. After time spent in hiding, he returned to finally destroy the creature who had put him through hell. Bashar, bound to protect the boy, fought him again, but was not so lucky as before. He received fatal wounds, and as he scrambled to find Mowgli’s children, to try and get them to safety, he came into the presence of a strange black book. Having seen books before, he knew what they were, but this one was odd. He went to pick it up, and found himself in a different world, leaving his friends and the jungle behind.
TLDR!: Bear is happy! He vibin! He joins in the humans cause they seem pretty neat. Protecting villages and vibing, but then tiger attack again and magic book takes him away to somewhere new.
