A stern, level-headed person - Basil can come off as cold and callous, and often is. Believing primarily in duty before passion, Basil throws themselves into their work with only time limited to the two children they helped to raise ; Rio and Crow.

It's simple to say that Basil throws themselves into their work to get over their heartbreak ; a wound still nursing due to the feelings still felt between both party members but Basil feels that their duty to their guild and to Rio and Crow is more important than their own selfish desires.

history

Basil lived and worked alongside their brother, as fingers for the Silver Hand : a collection of people who steal and watch over the rich to make sure funds are properly distributed to the poor. However, the guild had changed from a hand that protects the people to one who had abused it and Basil couldn't stand to see it and left. At first her only comfort were her two friends, Mercury and Simun but she soon found a third - a stranger who soon revealed themselves to be Adakiais ; the god of dreams.
Friendship merged into love, and Basil was all too happy to leave the world behind to live a life with Adakiais until reality came to hit her ; first with the almost life-ending injuries of her friend Simun, and the fact that her brother Sage had taken over the guild, tormenting the poor.
It was here that Basil found Rio and Crow, living on the streets - barely surviving thanks to her brother's cruelty and she decided to take a stand. Begging Adakiais for a hint of their power to defeat their family ; Adakiais obliged and Basil did what she had to do. Kill her brother, and return to the guild, taking Rio and Crow to raise them. However, the urge to run away was still so strong and in the end, Basil ended the relationship with Adakiais - citing her need to keep to her post, despite the sorrow she still feels over the decision to this day.
