Far from being an egotist as he appears, Ray struggles with self esteem. He chooses to deal with this by spending a lot of time prettying himself up and focusing on his appearence. He quite enjoys makeup and styling his hair as well as using his limited shapeshifting abilities to minimally change his appearence depending on how he feels on any given day. Ray projects an attitude of aggressive self confidence and self love, subscribing to the idea of "fake it till you make it."
