PERSONALITY

Personality(+) A kind soul, not very aggressive and just a general peach to be around. He's rather gentle, speaks low and calmly, and doesn't like causing a scene or making a big grand entrance. He has been known to be so quiet that you would barely notice he was in the room, but his appearance certainly doesn't help with that. He is far from being a pacifist, but if he can he will avoid confrontation or fighting at all cost. He is quiet but isn't all the way oblivious to his surroundings, and can join in on jokes or any antics that ensue at Tentako's agency but more as an onlooker.

Personality(-) Jiyazo can at times get socially awkward, and finds it hard to speak among crowds or in front of a large audience. This makes it hard for him to appear on TV or during hero meetings, and so it makes him come across as cold or mean. He also has a hard time saying no and can be a bit of a pushover at times, a bat habit he has had since he was a kid as he wanted to please everyone. He doesn't think much about himself and doesn't take care of himself a lot either, which causes Daiji to get exasperated with him.

Likes:

  • Squid and octopus (probably has tried to eat Daiji's tentacles once)
  • Insects and creepy crawlies.
  • Bright and saturated colors, it's an aesthetic.
  • Creepy things or subtly unnerving things such as horror movies or songs.
  • Poetry

Dislikes:

  • Judgmental folks or judging someone before getting to know them.
  • Mute or pale colors, they're NOT an aesthetic.
  • Dying his hair on the regular-- he likes to dye it bright blue sometimes but forgets to dye it often and as such his roots generally just stay colored.
  • Covering up-- he actually doesn't mind being dressed lightly.

HISTORY

ABOUT:

It was said that when Syuzen Jiyazo was born, the doctors and nurses in the room were overwhelmed with a sense of unease despite the birth going well. When his mother held him, she was overcome with such a powerful sense of anxiety that she immediately wanted the child to be taken away-- claiming he was cursed or possessed. It wasn't just a simple joke from her either, and it was serious whenever she had actually put him up for adoption. He jumped from foster home to foster home, the 'curse' being stapled onto him wherever he went and causing many people to not want to interact with him fearing he'd bring bad luck. He found it hard to make friends, found it hard for parents to want to adopt him into their homes, and thus he lived a lonely childhood. One might have thought this to a typical start of a delinquent or villain, but Syuzen actually took this as an opportunity to work towards making life better for himself and show others that they are wrong about whatever stigma they had placed upon him.

From a young age, he worked hard with his quirk and studied everything he could about using his quirk in combat, how to become a hero, and made sure to live his life with a very strict moral code of always doing right no matter who it is you're helping. Despite the creepy and uncanny aura he held, Syuzen approached people on his own and attempted to make friends and from there he made a few friends in middle and highschool during his hero course years. He found it hard to express himself, but those who got to know him knew he was of a pure heart and that the villain stigma they placed upon him was nothing but a false rumor. There were hardships as some kids would often tell him he just looked like a villain and that was what he would end up as, but he never really let this get to him and used it as a motivator. Eventually he graduated from his hero course and was eager to start work, but he found it hard to apply for sidekick positions as many agencies turned him down.

When walking home one day from another failed interview, Syuzen was confronted by a couple of hooligans that claimed they had been watching him all day and didn't like the way he carried himself. Accusing him of being a thief and general creep, they had roughed him up and planned on jumping him. They didn't get very far however whenever black tentacles wrapped them all up and slammed them against a wall, getting them away from him before they caused any real harm. Daiji was the savior, and after scolding the men and having them run off, Syuzen had profusely thanked him. Daiji recognized him from the up and coming hero articles they have online and offered him a job at his agency right on the spot. Of course Syuzen was filled with gratitude, and has been working for Daiji ever since.

QUIRK DESCRIPTION (FOR BNHA ONLY):

Quirk name: Scopophobia

User has two eyes on their palms that, whenever looked into, causes a strong feeling of anxiety and in worst cases, panic attacks. The user can chose whether or not to activate the quirk, and with training they can activate this "anxiety" switch without having to have someone look at their palms.

Syuzen uses his quirk in order to disorient his enemy and uses hand to hand combat in order to fight and subdue them. He doesn't like using his quirk at it's more powerful setting, as it can cause a variety of issues mentally on the person it's directed to.

Using his quirk too often or at too high an intensity can cause hallucinations and muscle spasms in Syuzen, and in extreme cases can leave him shaking and sweaty for hours.

RANDOM FACTS!:

- Funny enough, despite being socially awkward, he often attends school seminars in order to warn them about the dangers of quirk stereotyping and judging others on their quirks. He struggles though, and usually makes the crowd get a good laugh at how silly he gets when nervous.

- The way he phrases his words comes across as youthful or childish sometimes.

- Has a good relationship with his final foster parents, although he never got adopted he still appreciates all they did for him.

- Likes to fiddle with his earring or skull charm that hangs from his hair.
