Woodclaw

Soft-spoken, but will still stick up for himself. Not the bravest of Rangers, but reasonable and de-escalates before fighting. Woodclaw was the middle child of three. He always tried to be brave like his sister Blueshade. He wanted to make her proud, so he could stand up for his little sister Silversong. He always wanted to be a Ranger like his dad Mudpelt, who was respected and strong. He tried eating as much as he could to get big, but often gave up his rations to Silversong. But Blueshade would always let him eat hers. 

As his mentor, Lakenight tried to make Woodclaw more aggressive in his fighting, which he was, but he always would inquire about alternatives. Saying that he could seriously ruin someone's life if he took out an eye or a tail, and that we'd have fewer injuries to treat if they tried being peaceful first. Lakenight laughed at his optimism but he continued anyway. Maybe he just didn't understand yet. 

Woodclaw became one of his Colony's most admired Rangers, and most eligible bachelor. Blueshade was very proud of him, since his Novices and patrols rarely come to her with injuries. He was proud to keep his Colony safe. He made friends with everyone, including Hazeldust, who was often on patrol with him. When the controversy about Blueshade came up, he was torn. He wanted to stand up for his sister, but this was a pretty heinous crime to be accused of. Plus: how could he go against Lady Lakenight, who was his mentor? She practically raised him more than Blueface did. He turned away from her, but still isn't sure he did the right thing.

FATHER: Rosebush - While she loves her father, Lady Skyshine feels that he's always been too overprotective of both she and her sister. This hasn't lessened since she became leader and, if anything, it's made things worse. Especially since he has developed various health problems in his old age. Lady Skyshine wants her father to relax and enjoy his retirement but that's easier said than done.

MOTHER: Blueface - As the sole survivors of the nightmare that Blueshade thrust upon their family, Woodclaw is fiercely protective of her mother. To the point where he'll keep secrets from his half-sisters despite loving them dearly.  

SIBLINGS: Blueshade - While the two were originally close and loved each other, Woodpelt still cannot understand what drove Blueshade to do what she did. Some part of him wants to blame Hazeldust if it means being able to still love his sister but he doesn't know how much of that he really believes. 

Silversong - Will always feel guilty for not being able to protect her or her family and continues to grieve for them alongside his mother. 

Lady Skyshine - Although he would never admit this, she reminds him of who Blueshade used to be before the Red Forest corrupted her. 

Petalbreeze - The two frequently played together and, upon discovering what had happened to their family from Rookwing, Petal became someone he could confide his pained feelings to.

NOVICE:  Alderwood - Saw a lot of himself in the bashful young Novice and did his best to be a kind and empathetic mentor to him. 

MENTOR: Lady Lakenight - Was always scared to death of her and considered being her Novice something of a nightmare experience. He was glad when she was replaced with the more caring Lady Skyshine, although the way Lake died continues to horrify him.
