Idunn Rán

Idunn is a 41 year old Inkling woman. She is the mother of Freya, Agent 3. Idunn previously served as a combat medic in the Inkopolis Armed Forces, but following an incident where she lost her leg and hand, retired to recover and take care of an infant Freya. As soon as Freya was old enough to relatively take care of herself, Idunn then became an ER nurse at Wellspring City Hospital. 

When Freya was 16, Idunn was fairly unaware of her daughter's involvement with the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Following an incident resulting in a prominent scar on Freya's neck, Idunn had an incredibly heated argument with her daughter. This led to Freya running away after Idunn's husband essentially locked her in her room. After this, Idunn divorces her husband and now lives alone.
