Backstory

Artemis hails from the land of Redall, a land mostly populated with other Catkin and various animal-type beings. For many years Redall was peaceful, but only a decade before Artemis's birth the monsters and demons hiding in the forest emerged and began to wreak havoc. When Artemis's parents were killed, she took on the job of traveling from town to town and vanquishing the fiends and monsters. In exchange for this, people gave her a place to stay and kept her fed. Fueled by the desire for vengeance and will to protect her people, Artemis did this for many years. And then, one day, they were gone. The demons, the monsters. Somehow, they vanished. Maybe she hunted them all. No one will ever know for certain. And within a month, Artemis found herself chosen by the Traveller and appeared very suddenly in Londolond.
