Backstory - This version of Miss Mae has mostly the same events in her backstory. Normally she would be born in 1883, but in this AU, she was born in 1868. Her parents died at a young age, she was moved to Canada from Scotland, Adoptive mother grew sour towards her, she runs away to New York at 18. However, the timeline splits here. While Miss Mae normally becomes serious about her art career at this time, Mafia Mae actually develops a desire to work in the medical field. The only issue was that 1, she was literally homeless- and 2, she could never go to medical school because of money and not even graduating high school- One day, while wandering the streets, Mafia Mae made some random guys angry, and they beat tf out of her- This beating was what caused her facial scars and vision problems. She was rescued by a man named Gavin Quinn. Gavin was the boss of his own mafia empire, and he offered Mafia Mae a job. Desperate for money, she accepted. She managed to climb the ranks and positions for many years after that until she became Gavin's personal assistant. Gavin passed away from lung cancer, and the job of being the boss of the Quinn empire was bestowed upon Mafia Mae. With her now being the new boss, the name of the empire was changed to the "Mae" empire. Since then, Mafia Mae has been running everything and has become very notable and feared by most.
