Backstory

Way back in the 1800's, he and the rest of the council worked as a group of scientists studying mental health, but to very different extremes than other scientists. They were performing forbidden experiments that resulted in some damage to others, and themselves. Rex was involved in the calculations they needed for experiments, and solving any issues that were in the experiments. He was also super into taking apart and putting together machinery (keep in mind this is the late 1800's). At this time, Rex did have a slight struggle with eating (purely cuz he was always distracted), but Debbie usually kept him in check. Eventually, Lucas was caught running the labs and was sentenced to death. He didn't tell anyone about the rest of the group, so they were safe for the time being, but were quickly dying off over the years (Dallas first, then Rex). Before Lucas had died, Rex noticed something seemed off. After Lucas died, it was confirmed that he had cancer. It made it harder for him to eat (which he liked the high of and it later caused him the ortho in the Afterlife) as it was also a genetic issue he got from his mum. Deb visited him everyday to help him out. Eventually, he died, and sadly, she was the one who found him.

He was brought in as the Anorexia boss for the council of mental illness that Lucas and Dallas were upholding. They used his weight and eating issue to test how they die there, which just worsened his issues, and he was never able to get back from it (especially when he really missed Debbie). His body shut down from it, and seeing as he didn't want to do better, they waited for Deb to come years later to help him out of the rut, while Aven took over his spot. Deb came along and managed to get him out of his rut, but could never get him to fully regain his weight. Being able to do calculations so quick in his head meant he was good with calories (see where calculations come in? lol) so he can estimate calories very accurately.

During his childhood, he was a poor kid that lived with his mum. They did live in New Orleans, but to escape a abusive father, his mum and himself left and moved away. Then, one day, he met Debbie in a toy store and Debbie bought him the toy car he wanted and they became best friends very quickly. Unfortunately, when he was Seven, his mum was getting gravely ill and it was cancer and she died whilst Rex was holding her hand. Debbie's parents took Rex in as his own, but he was becoming quite a troubled child in his teenage years. He was still struggling with eating, but he was becoming a master thief with pick pocketing and stealing gears for cars. He even tried to be a street kid that he desired to be, but he was so malnourished and small for his age that it wasn't to be. Thankfully, he grew up and matured in being a mature adult but it was so hard for him to get a job as a mechanic since his name was famously known in car shops for being a thief, so it was difficult for him.

Unluckily for Rex, there was a therapist under Lucas' stern watch: Dr. Wacko Thumb. So, Debbie takes him to try and get help for him.
