Profile

Early Life

Delta's life before his military career has always been a thing of obscurity. Something he seems to do on purpose leaving the why as a mystery. Yet for good reason. His life back home could be described as fractured at best. Between his mother dying in his early childhood of drug overdose, his abusive father being a victim of homicide during Delta's basic training, and his older brother parting ways after a bloody brawl. He couldn't wait for mandatory service to get him away. Also leaving his past name, Vitalus Lucindis, behind. The only thing that followed him from his past was a necklace charm attached to his tags that earned him his name.

Having met his future partner-in-crime at age 27 (Brax being 21), the two being seeming opposites made them surprisingly mesh well together during training simulations. Adding a much needed balance to their team and getting them both noticed by the higher ups. Making him a candidate to the 26th Armiger Legion. Unfortunately, he never completed his trial period after hearing the news of a certain someone's engine malfunction decimating the ship. Breaking turian code of conduct by defecting and losing him the opportunity as well as becoming a wanted criminal by the Hierarchy. It also led him to sell his mother's M-97 Viper for the credits to kickstart his survival. Actions that wouldn't be known to Brax himself until years later.

Starting Over

The chemistry they shared resurfaced almost immediately after meeting back up on the Citadel. It followed him into combat when he needed to pull his old friend out of the fire. Brax had found himself in the unsavory position of bounty hunter and bit off more than he could chew. Delta found himself eating his own words about never helping him like that again when Brax announced his intent to travel to the Terminus Systems. Despite leaving a promising career in the dust to do so, he seems content with being Brax's shadow. Though he will deny being a mercenary. His claim is that he is a loyal body guard to his friend to ensure he stays in (relatively speaking) one piece. His involvement as a gun for hire comes from volunteering to do jobs more suitable for a sniper than a field gunman. Despite the growing amount of snipers in their midst.

His own place in their little band of mercenaries being fluid, filling positions until someone is brought on to take the responsibility off his hands. He's only ever stepped down from one position: executioner. Having hated the job from the get go of having to run down those who would risk or do wrong by the group and put them out of their misery. Often finding it hard to swallow being the end of former comrades on his conscience. After stepping down he's found himself as the right hand of Aegis, a now flourishing band of mercenaries.

A Breach in the Impossible

The crew members would be the ones to tip the scales in Delta's favor. After years of obvious pining disguised as loyal service, they spent a solid month convincing their Captain that his lieutenant's feelings were no prank as he had thought all this time. Over the years any bold moves made by the man were dismissed as light hearted humor. Finally talking it out, the two have seemed to move into friends-with-benefits territory as they feel out the newly developing dynamic.

During the period of time the relationship was kept as a secret, Delta was able to work through his disbelief. Though they keep the PDA to a minimum, Brax can't help himself in teasing him. Something he gets him back for when doors are closed. Knowing full well that was the intended purpose all along. It sparks new and important moments of tenderness between the two that is sorely needed. Much of the pillow talk is them unwinding each other's insecurities which only further strengthens the bond.

Many of the crew guess incorrectly at their dynamics behind closed doors, much to his amusement. Not only is he the big spoon to accommodate his partner's needier nature. But he also finds himself as the recipient of the title "sir" for a change. It still amazes him how easily they slipped into the relationship. His petname for Brax is "starlight", while Brax's is "sunshine" for him in kind.

Of Loss and Love

Delta always knew his past would sneak up on him one day. He just didn't think it was going to be literal. A baited job offer and a finely placed trap to get him to remove his glove was all it took to lose his hand. He took a concussive round dead center of his palm. It's disruptive ammo shredding his shields and leaving him open for a second round in his shoulder.

Cadimus.

His older brother and his bane. Life in the Terminus only amplified his bloodlust for violence, but it was the sound mind he had that shook Delta. When he last saw his brother he lacked discipline when it came to his anger. Now he's somehow not only obtained control over it, he weaponized it. Had Delta been alone he would have met a gruesome end. Thankfully his found family was ready to jump to defend him. He heard only the parting remark Cadimus gave promise to before losing consciousness.

Waking up in the ship's infirmary, he was greeted with the sight of his lover and his new hand. Brax had put it together while he was being stabilized and it was his best work yet. Unfortunately, Delta needed physical therapy to use it and found himself bound to the ship. Not all was bad though. His lover casually let slip the first "I love you" between them with a kiss to the forehead after reassuring Delta that he belonged here. So if Cadimus wanted him he'd have to go through him and the entire crew. Brax had already rushed off to get to work before his mind could process the gesture. Whispering an "I love you too" where no one was around to hear.
