He’s a short tempered artist with a big ego. He works around at night in Octo Canyon guarding the zapfish and also spending his time cleaning, covering the ground in certain sectors keeping watch for Agent 4 when really he’d rather be painting pictures alone in his room. He hopes that one day he will become a famous artist and get recognition. Carter is often seen as annoyed/grumpy, usually because of his lack of patience with others and or he is trying to be superior even though he’s quite short compared to many octoling soldiers and sometimes isn’t taken seriously, but he can be quite friendly and enthusiastic when others get to really know him and simply enjoy and respect the things he does.
•Working in Octo Valley then Octo Canyon
When he first arrived to Octo Valley he was put on cleaning duty for a long time, that being him having to work night shifts by cleaning and covering turf in certain sectors. He started working his way up into becoming a real octoling soldier in Octo Canyon where he was put on guard duty to guard the zapfish alongside 3 other octolings he refers as “comrades”. Eventually Carter becomes known to being very successful in defeating Genji whenever he intrudes allowing Carter to work independently.
•Being welcomed in Inkopolis
(In the true route of his story)- When Genji finally defeats Carter in his own boss fight before going to Octavio’s boss kettle instead of shooting him with a final blow he instead tosses his weapon and ink tank aside and lends Carter a hand to stand up showing mercy. Carter is hesitant at first but accepts, the both of them are tired of fighting. Once Genji defeats DJ Octavio he brings Carter and his 3 comrades with him to the surface in Inkopolis Square.
•In turf
He had heard about it and made fun of it before in Octo Canyon but now him actually participating he feels it should be easy. Him and his comrades nearly get banned for using physical attacks against players by punching and kicking at times if someone got too close. He was trained differently in Octo Canyon so Genji and his friends go and teach him and his comrades how things work in turf and that to only use main weapon and sub weapon to fight.
When they first met in Octo Canyon Genji instantly mocked Carter for how someone as short as he could possibly defeat him alone. Genji would immediately realize he underestimated him. The two would now constantly compete against each other.
