She was a simple wolf but became a yokai when she turned 100 years. Having lost his herd due to poaching, she had no choice but to learn to live alone, but she had nowhere to hide from humans so she was forced to flee to the undead world. There she met an old witch who captured and used her as a guard dog. One day she managed to kill her and after devouring her whole body, Hotaru inherited her black magic abilities.
