family is originally from the earth kingdom. grew up in the northern air temple, her family being refugees dating back to the time of avatar aang, led by mechanists, who settled there after their own village was destroyed by a flood. The Northern Air Temple was the site where many important technological advancements in the world took place; this is how she got her mechanical leg. she was born without a right leg but her father was an inventor/engineer who created her mechanical leg(s) over the years.
