Profile
Frankie grew up with her father overseas, and was homeschooled by him through high school. Her mother died from illness shortly after Frankie’s birth, so her father was the only family she ever had. The two were very close, sharing an interest in science and a gentle-hearted nature. He was also very supportive of her mutation, and showed a wholehearted fascination in her abilities as she developed them. Because of this, Frankie remained largely unaware that most humans disliked mutants until after her father’s death. She also grew up accustomed to jungle environments due to her father’s job as a researcher of exotic plant life.
Her father was killed in a sudden accident, and shortly after Frankie was contacted by Charles Xavier. He invited her to live on campus at his school for mutants, which she eagerly accepted. Despite still mourning her father’s death, she managed to settle into her new life at the institute and was eager to make new friends. Due to her unique upbringing, she struggled to relate to her classmates in many ways, but still felt a bond with them as fellow mutants. She also became very attached to Xavier, since he reminded her of her father in many ways.
Frankie’s main hobby is painting, and she is often found with paint splatters on her clothes. She loves painting colorful landscapes, abstract designs, and murals, but has more trouble drawing people and likenesses. Larger canvases are her preference whenever possible, and as a result she sometimes compulsively paints on surfaces she isn’t supposed to, such as walls or furniture.
She has a knack for swing dancing, having learned it from her father, and enjoys mostly old fashioned music from the 20’s and 30’s. Because of her upbringing, her knowledge of current pop culture is limited, but she is eager to learn once she hears about new music or books from her peers.
Early on, Frankie is extremely eager to join the X-Men, despite Xavier’s insistence that she is too young and inexperienced to go on any dangerous missions. She struggles to recognize her own naivety and becomes frustrated that she can’t do “important” heroics in the way she wants yet.
Thanks to her father’s influence, she developed a love for reading and still spends much of her free time reading both fiction and non-fiction.
She hates getting in trouble, and avoids acting out as much as possible since she prefers to follow the rules. On some occasions, she may ignore her conscience if she feels the situation demands it, but still hates feeling like she’s let anyone down by disrespecting their rules.
