Backstory

Salem  Morson was born into a blue-collar family with her younger  twin sister  Vondila in the city Seaford. Their parents were hard  workers and did  everything they could to support their children and  save for them to go  to college when they were young adults. The twins  were left alone a lot  due to their parents working, Salem was lost when  it came to taking care  of herself luckily she had her twin Vondila who  helped look after her.  When they became of school age, was when it was  noticed that Salem was a  bright student. Though she was pulled into  her twins antics and had fun  doing them, though she would never admit  to it. When she was older at  school a magic show was held, she fell in  love with the tricks but was  never good at them herself. Her sister on  the other hand took to it like  it was second nature. She loved watching  her sister performed the  tricks. When the twins were in grade 7 they  both started to develop  Vitilgo (loss of pigment in the skin) for Salem  is started on her face  and she became a target of bullying. Her sister  stood up for her and  protected her but she still became self-conscious  and anxious about it. 

When  Salem was thirteen her mother fell ill and soon passed leaving  the  twins with one parent. Their father did everything he could to take  care  of his children but soon the medical debt had been taken on from  their  mother's illness left them with almost nothing. So he sent the  twins to  Marietta Hope to spend a year with their great aunt Salem. The  twins  weren’t really sure about it at first but soon grew to love  their grant  (great aunt) Salem. Less then a month into moving Salem was  fed up with  both her and her grant both responding that she chose to  go by the short  form of Sae. After living in Marietta Hope for four  months they stopped  hearing from their father and it soon turned out  that he had gone  missing. So grant Salem took in the twins permanently  being their last  living relative. 

Soon after Salem started sewing more and more to  get her mind off of  what her father did. She joined the fashion club at  school and helped  with creating costumes for the cheerleaders, colour  guard and plays.  When it was time to go to college she knew exactly what  she wanted to  do so she applied at MHC as well as a few other  well-known schools with  fashion programs. Getting accepted to MHC was  the greatest day for  her, the letter arrived on the anniversary of the  twin’s moving to  Marietta Hope. It took hours of poking from Von to look  up from her  projects long enough to open the letter. She had been  scared that it  was a rejection letter due to how many bad things  happened on that day.  She was dragged out by Von to have some fun to  celebrate and make the  day mean something good. After hours of having  fun and her twin taking  part in some adult drinks they relaxed at the  edge of the forest and  lake. As they looked to the stars they met Lilac.  They were confused by  the purple raven looking at the shiny bracelet  Sae was wearing so she  offered it to the creature. Lilac then showed her  real form in  excitement to have the shiny bracelet and a friend. It  wasn’t till the  next day did Lilac tell the twins about the battles in  the forest and  that she wanted to have Sae help her. Von was extremely  hesitant to let  Sae go and do something like this but soon accepted it  was up to her  twin. Sae was more then willing to help not only would she  be able to  help the town she came to love but also hearing that others  that were  going to be helping the fae were all at the college.
