Created for the sole purpose of destroying humanity, RS is anything but that and is seen as a failure by his creator and accompanying clones due to having empathy and lack of killing drive.
RS is model #000 out of three specialized units meant to replicate a Hero being named Sap, with RS being the one with his most likeness in terms of appearance, age difference aside. The extreme likeness to the original is why RS gained his name "replica sap", which is shortened to RS.
Despite his dark creation and subsequent failure resulting in his deactivation, he gained a second chance at living and ended up in a new reality different than his own.

While Colt and RS didn't get off to the best start, eventually just by the sheer power of having to be around the guy/letting him stay at his place Colt warmed up to RS a lot. Perhaps it has something to do with their souls, but Colt feels an affinity with RS that he's never felt before. Perhaps its his crush on RS speaking...
