Hockey Puck

As you're walking late in the evening, you hear whimpering coming from an alleyway. You turn your head to see what appears to be a small animal laying next to the dumpster. Maybe it's a dog? As you approach, it notices you and starts happily wagging its tail, still laying on the ground. The closer you get, the less it resembles a dog. Now it looks more like some sort of grotesque worm. It opens its mouth to reveal a gnarly set of teeth, as well as a long tongue as it begins panting. It's hideous, to say the least. But despite his looks, he seems like a good boy. Do you take him home?
