"..." While rather terrifying (if you're a human), Merritt is generally excitable and much more confident in his ability to crush anyone in his way than he is about how he looks, which does bring humor to most interactions any (non-human) person happens to have with him.
History
Merritt is a former high school student turned monster, after having participated in an experiment involving fusion between organic elements. While the experiment had been a success, the fusion worked in different ways than Merritt had foreseen: with the procedure, pretty much any knowledge of the experiment had been erased from his memory altogether, and so he stays stuck in this new form, blaming "the person who did this" for his new condition. Despite being a monster, Merritt shows a surprising amount of intellect even after losing his memory, as he learned how to use the flytrap mouths on his tentacle legs to actually speak, and finds new ways to sate his cravings for human flesh without being caught.
Trivia
- Merritt cannot speak through his normal mouth, and instead uses his flytrap mouths to talk.
- Merritt is good friends with Kelso, the estranged merperson who normally messes with humans. They bond over hating humans.
- Merritt's normal diet consists of humans, though he is physically able to eat anything normally edible by omnivores.
- Merritt is immune to poison.
