W hile Reynir is more interested in trying to unlock the secrets to the end of the world, he does occasionally socialize with others. Mostly to sell them some snake oil prophecy for an unreasonable sum. He's not totally heartless, though, don't worry! He spends a lot of time with his morail, testing out his mind powers. It's not like he minds or anything, right? He only needs a little persuasion. Reynir not someone you'd easily make friends with, but nevertheless, he's in contact with quite a few people who he deems useful to his cause.

Personality & Stats

reynirspirt.png DEMEANOR

Reynir conducts himself with an unmistakable sense of superiority. Of course, unless you're higher on the hemospectrum than he is. Then, he's begrudgingly respectful. He's aloof, jaded and serious all the time. People who know him say that he's never cracked a joke, ever. He can come off as incredibly calculating and dismissive, as long as he feels satisfied with the outcome. He's always been a strong believer of the ends justifing the means, no matter what the means in question are.

STRENGTHS

Reynir is very...persuasive. Whether that be through his words or literally influencing your thoughts and actions, he has a way of getting what he wants from you. He's always thinking three steps ahead, and is never caught unprepared for anything.

WEAKNESSES

Reynir is incredibly hard to work with under most circumstances. Everything has to be done his way, and if you refuse, he'll just make you do it his way. Entirely resistant to compromise, and his scope of vision is limited to worst case scenarios.

tumblr_inline_nfhtfoLhj61si25to.gif GODTIER - SEER OF DOOM

As a Seer of Doom, Reynir's job is to utilize the visions and symbols presented to him to help alter the fate of objects and people. Ascension came easily to Reynir, as he was naturally attuned to all the warnings that doom and death presented to him. As such, he's had ample time to grow and develop his abilities as a Seer, although not all of his motives are for the benefit of his team, rather he uses his visions to push his own narratives and ideals. He holds information over people's heads, and any attempt to fight back is futuile, as he can sense his own doom and avoid any fatal blows or actions. Reynir, while already privy to glimpses of doomed fates prior to god-tiering, became truly connected to the ways in which death and doom touches the world after achiving godhood.

Before god-tiering, Reynir was plagued with nightmares, visions of doom and destruction that he would encounter in the time he spent waking. As such, he tended to avoid sleeping, but soon found it neccesary in order to change the fates of important people and events in his life. Before god-tiering, these dreams were purely symbolic, but after finding godhood, they became act-for-act scenes of what was to come. Being surrounded by doom and gloom his entire life led Reynir to become bitter and jaded, but he still has some heart left in him to attempt to do right by those that matter to him. He guides those in the direction he believes benefits all, even if his demeanor may not show it.

Strife Specibus

Reynir's strife specibus of choice is knifekind. An ornate hunting knife that seems to be quite old, and serves many purposes. The handle is made of a dark blue stone, and is engraved with Reynir's sigil, the blade decorated with thorny vines. Surely the malevolent energy he feels seeping from it is just his imagination, right? Not to mention this thing was already in his hive. Who used it before Reynir, and why did they have the same sigil?

Fetch Modus

Reynir's fetch modus is called "8ball", but technically, they're just two 4-balls. One for depositing, one for fetching. The name of the item stored on the fetchball will appear on a side of the dice that faces the window, and will only allow itself to be withdrawn should the user shake the ball and land on the correct face. As more items result in more faces, it's more useful for storing a few things at once. In order to place an item into the depositball, the user simply has to ask it if the item can be depositied. If the answer is negative, you'll just have to try some other time.

Story

PRE-SESSION

Reynir's lusus had always been rather distant with him, only giving him basic care, and not being much of a parent. He fed him, he protected him, and that was it. Their relationship is purely give-and-take, and there is little to no familial warmth present. Reynir often practiced his manipulation powers as a young troll in order to get others to do something for him. Lowbloods running errands, highbloods handing over their jewelry, Reynir knew he could talk anyone into doing anything and he took great advantage of that. Later on, he decided to start his own fortune-telling buisness once he came into his premonitave abilities.

If you go to Reynir for a psychic reading, it's 50/50 whether or not you'll actually get something truthful or a load of bullshit. Either way, he believes that it doesn't matter what his clients leave his buisiness feeling, as long as he gets paid. Recently, he's been having more and more visions in his dreams, but the problem is, he can't remember what they are. Just a lot of fire and destruction, and he's not going to stop at anything until he can figure out what he keeps seeing in his dreams. Perhaps the secret project his morail has been all shady with lately will bring about some answers.

THE FIRST SESSION

Reynir had godtiered rather early into the session, and as such, had a front row seat for all the destruction that was about to occur. As his powers developed, he came to the realization that there were no timelines in which their team wouldn't be doomed. Every action they took, and every action after that would lead to some calamity in one way or the other. So, he was content to sit back and watch. When asked, he would give what he knew, but he always kept the fact that there was no future for them secret. The only hiccup in this constant stream of doom came when Leliel Ieshim godtiered, and Reynir finally saw a gap in the timelines where something, anything good could happen.

After this realization, Reynir reached out to Leliel in order to find the cause of this sudden burst of hope. She, being newly godtiered, was unaware of what immense potential she had, but under Reynir's guidance, managed to figure out the extent of the powers of Hope she held. With one wish, she could completely alter the fates of everyone in their team, and armed with this knowledge, Reynir set in motion a plan to save him and his team.

THE NEW SESSION

Upon entry into the brand-new session, the Imperial Flagship the trolls had arrived in was splintered into three pieces, each landing on one of the new planets created in the newly-formed session. Reynir, alongside Tsolun, Nikola and Cerise landed on the Land of Alleys and Frogs, on the far side of the planet away from its Hero's home. They were able to take residence in the many abandoned buildings upon the planet, however Reynir preferred to stay in the Imperial Flagship's wreckage. During the first weeks on LOAAF, Reynir was little to no help in terms of fixing up their quarters. Instead, he was locked up in a dark room, intensely studying the new fates of the session they had just entered. He wouldn't emerge for quite awhile, not that his teammates minded. He was terribly grumpy and not very cooperative, so him sectioning himself off was actually probably the best thing he could have done to help.

Much to his relief, the doom patterns were far less heavy in this session. However, there was always something...off about the session. It always felt like Reynir was never getting the full picture of possibilities, and when he met these new "humans" that inhabited the new Incipisphere, the sensation only grew. The source of his uncertainties all stemmed from them, and as such, he never took a liking to any of the three humans, convinced they were only dooming them to a failed session again. However, it didn't seem like the kids were any harm, in fact, they were doing a great job progressing the game, so why did Reynir still feel like something was missing?
