Vibrant Sea Prince
"And in the ocean, there lived a sea prince, finned and cheery as they come. One year, he wished on a star that shot through the sky. His prayers consisted of a reunion with a goddess-bound dream."
Two gentle souls bound together by the threads of adoration and fate. The sea prince holds the goddess in his arms so so delicately, fearful that should he squeeze her too hard that she would shatter like glass. Her presence, her being, the fact that he is given the chance to view her visage is something that no other fish could even dream of. But she's here, a dream that had blessed his reality. He is ever grateful for her, but yet...
As the sun rises, he feels her existence grow weaker. Her warmth feels close, yet far away from him, even though she is so small against his chest.
In this moment, he asks selfishly to himself to be given more time with her. A second, a minute, anything. He is ever grateful for this day to come each year, yet as he cups her cheeks in his hands and places a kiss upon her lips, he wishes this moment could last an eternity.
"Next year, my dear goddess. I'll be here, always."
He is just one single fish in the sea, a sea full of vast and ever vibrant life. Yet he pines, heart full of feelings, smitten with the moon goddess itself, however foolish he might be.
Orion is an incredibly cheery sea prince. He is radiant, with a smile that is full of the warmth of the sun. He can be a bit simple minded, but he has always been smitten and driven by his feelings for the moon goddess that watches over them. He takes care of an underwater sea shrine's monument to her, making sure that it is always clean and presentable to any visitors. He is well versed in the deities that protect the ocean and offers performances to honor them and manifest some of the magic that is conjured by the ocean's luminescence.
Of his other duties, he spends time weaving together seagrass and seashells while looking after the young fish of the ocean. Many fish leave their children by the shrine as they go about their busy day, so Orion is quite good at looking after them and taking care of them. He is considered something of an older brother figure to many of the village's young.
At night he often swims up to the surface of the sea and watches the night sky. Once, as a very young fish, he had seen her here. The form of a bunny, with big, fluffy ears, with beauty that transcended anything he could ever hope to comprehend. Since then, this place had become special. Somewhere where he could clear his mind, and swim through the sea, feeling the tide against his skin. He floats on the surface of the waves, thinking of her, wishing to see her again- even if it would be incredibly selfish to ever wish that. He knows yet, Orion's heart squeezes tightly and pounds against his chest when he thinks of her and of the eyes she made when they met his.
After all these years spent dreaming of her visage, they at last reunite during one occasion in which he wishes upon a shooting star soaring through the sky to see her again. In doing so, the star flies closer and closer, until he realizes the star is falling out of the sky itself and into the quiet body of water. As he watched the moon goddess sink to the bottom of the ocean, he scrambles to save her, taking her into his arms and pulling her back to shore.
- Although he is not technically a magical being, he is graced with the blessing of the ocean and is thus able to tap into the magic stirred by the waves.
- He is able to swim through the sky using the momentum of Cygnus' magic but normally he is just a sea fish.
- Orion's eyes are slightly prismatic like that of scales but can shift between pink and blue. They're usually blue though.
His precious goddess that he would swim to the ends of the universe for. Even though he is just a small and simple fish, he cherishes her above all else and will continue to wait for her year after year.
