Character

Autumn isn't a very talkative pony, even after drinking the cure that allowed the Kirin to talk again. They're not afraind to speak their mind, especially when they feel they're in the right. They're pretty stubborn and they don't like being told what to do, especially if it goes against their morals or ideals. After being hidden away by their mother, they developed a strong rebellious streak and they enjoy challenging authorities, when they feel it's warranted. They're quite the prankster too. They have a really hard time making friends, but once someone manages to befriend them, they're a really loyal friend and they're willing to use their Nirik form to fight for their friends. They used to be self-conscious of their looks, but after exploring Equestria for a bit and seeing the three main races of ponies living in harmony despite their differences, they learned to appreciate their uniqueness. As a Kirin, they had to learn to handle their anger and they vent their frustration, and their emotions in general, through street art. Despite their rough and aloof exterior, they're a gentle and caring pony, but it's hard to see that side of them.

Backstory

Autumn was the result of a short, yet intense, love story between a Kirn mare and a Pegasus explorer who stumbled upon the Peaks of Peril. Unfortunately, their father didn't want to settle down and left Autumn's mother shortly after she got pregnant. The Kirin mare was ashamed of being abandoned, so she kept Autumn hiden away from everyone, except close friends and family to try and keep the story a secret. She lied to Autumn saying it was to keep them from being bullied. At first Autumn agreed with their mother's decision, but they soon realized their mother was just trying to protect her own reputation and projecting her insecurities onto Autumn. They started sneaking out at night and they learned how to fly on their own during their escapades. They didn't walk into the Stream of Silence when all the Kirin did, their mother brought home a bucket of the water from the stream, which Autumn unknowingly bathed in.

The night after the Kirin regained their voices, Autumn snuck out to drink the cure, they quickly packed up their stuff and left the Kirin village. That was the first time they truly appreciated their wings, since it made travelling much quicker. It wasn't easy, food was scarce and they didn't have the ability to help plants grow other Kirin have. At the first chance they got, Autumn snuck on a train and stayed hidden until they reached Canterlot. They lived off of pickpocketing strangers for a few months, which made them hate themself even more. Their life changed for the better when they tried and failed to steal from the local upcoming Idol Pony Ethereal Melody. The pegasus mare didn't take t it personally and even offered Autumn a place to stay and even helped them find a job as a coffee shop barista, thanks to which they were slowly able to repay all the ponies they'd pickpocketed with free drinks. To satisfy their rebellious streak, they became a street artist known for turning barren walls into paintings. They didn't tell anyone about that hobby of theirs except for Melody, who would have found out anyway since they're roommates. Autumn painted the side of the coffee shop they work at, since their boss complained about the outside looking plain. They have the sneaking suspicion their boss knows it was them (and they're right), especially since he started being much more lenient when they came in to work late and/or tired after a night spent painting.

Autumn is now Melody's roommate and close friend, and they occasionally help the idol mare during her performances by using their Nirik fire for special effects, which go surprisingly well with Melody's ghosts. Melody's manager has tried to get Autumn to perform on stage, but they refused and even scared him with their fire when he insisted. Thanks to Melody, they met Forest Guardian who Autumn immediately became friends with. The three of them are so close they joke that Autumn's related to the two cousins somehow. Little do they know, Autumn's father is Melody and Forest's estranged uncle.

• Missing Kirin Traits: Full mane, magic that can grow plants, proper Nirik form.
• Missing Pegasus Traits: Cutie Mark, ability to change wather.
• Remaining Kirin and Pegasus Traits: Appearance (their horn is slightly smaller than a normal Kirin's), Telekinesis (much weaker than a Unicorn's), Nirik fire (they're not completely fireproof).
• The scales on their back grow around where their wings are attached, creating a crecent moon shape.
• They have a layer of scales (like the one on their nose) growing on the edge of their wings, starting from where they're attached.
• They keep their mane long to look more like a Kirin.
• They've never met their father and rarely see their mother.
• They sometime work as a vigilante.
• Autumn's colors are based off of the Cigar Galaxy.
• At first their name was Galaxy Feather, but it was too much of a mouthful.

Relationships

Ethereal Melody [ Close Friend (Cousin) ]

Autumn is eternally grateful to Melody for helping them out at the lowest point in their life. They're Melody's #2 supporter right after Forest, even though Melody insists they're both on the same level. Autumn just respects Forest for being there for Melody from the beginning. They're roommates and they often help Melody scare away the idol's manager when he gets too annoying. Their apartment looks like it's Halloween all year round. They don't know they're cousins.

Forest Guardian [ Close Friend (Cousin) ]

Autumn met Forest a while after meeting Melody and they immediately became friends, bonding over their love for nature. They're both big fans of Melody and they agreed that Forest is the #1 fan for knowing Melody the longest. Forest is kind of jealous of Autumn for being able to see Melody every day, another reason for their agreement on who's Melody's #1 and #2 fan. Autumn helped Forest make a few unique talismans using their Nirik Fire. They don't know they're cousins.
