Background: Jenna has a twin sister, Cassidy, whom she's very close to. They've been together their whole life, and shares a lot with each other. Their family is another story. Jenna's parents only wanted one kid, not two. As far as Jenna can remember, their parents were not often together at home, and when they were, they would often argue with each other. Jenna remembers most of her time up until she was 6 years old playing with Jenna in their shared bedroom while yells could be heard in a distance. Their biological family are elites/high tiers, so they were kinda wealthy and had butlers etc that took cared of Cassidy and Jenna. However, it seemed that Jenna's parents had grown so spiteful of each other that they wanted to divorce. However, neither were satisfied with the whole agreement shit so they ended up leaving Cassidy and Jenna in an orphanage. This had an impact on Jenna. She started feeling some self doubt, longing, and insecurity (Cassidy's the same too, although Cassidy's more of the one that puts on the "I'm strong" facade and comforts the other). When Cassidy and Jenna were 8 years old, they were adopted by a family of cripples and low tiers. Cassidy and Jenna were distrustful at first. She felt like they only wanted to use their powers or something. However, the family was genuinely loving and caring, and Cassidy eventually welcomed the warmth. Going to school was quite strange. They attended a local school that was mostly full of cripples, low tiers, some mid tiers. So Cassidy and Jenna were quite strong for their age at that school. Jenna didn't know how to handle the odd treatment they were getting, and mostly kept to Cassidy. She was also kind of scared, but managed to keep a poker face on. The twins would play around with their abilities a lot, wanting to ignore all the problems in life. One day, some mid tiers came raiding their district because of how easy it was. Enraged, Cassidy and Jenna wondered why they weren't being saved by the authorities. They joined a bunch of adults in ridding the district of them. This incident amplified Jenna's distrust of others, but also made her feel more humble. Her time in the district and the family made her feel sympathetic to cripples etc as well. She empathised with the longing feeling of acceptance and love from others, and she was grateful for the family for taking them in. When she entered high school, Cassidy expressed her ambition to do well in high school and make their family proud to Jenna. This made Jenna feel hopeful and happy, and she agreed to do well. They sadly wound up in different classes but agreed to meet up at break. This set back Jenna a little, but she kept her head high and hoped for the best. Her sixth sense was telling her otherwise, though. She had a bad feeling, and that bad feeling proved her right. Her classroom was mostly full of toxic people who either kept to themselves, already had a clique, or seemed to gossip and whisper about everyone. Some guys at the back for some reason eyed her, which made her feel disgusted. Toward the end of class, the guys started making a ruckus, and directed a couple of their insults to her. They even somehow knew about Jenna's family situation. As soon as she stepped out of class, one of the guys shot an energy beam at her. This sparked some annoyance and disgust in the usually kind Jenna, and she got into a fighting stance while activating her ability & grabbing a pair of scissors. She evaded most of their initial attacks and by the time they were standing face-to-face, Cassidy had arrived as Jenna felt she would. Together, they fought them off. She knew she should be happy but she just felt sad/lost hope in a fresh start. Jenna was grateful to have Cassidy. The teachers scolded them, but that was it. The year went on, and Cassidy made two new friends. Jenna was happy for her, but didn't interact much with them. Jenna felt uncomfortable around most of the students around and just generally disliked it at the school. Jenna didn't seem to bother making friends. Jenna was grateful they had gotten to be in the same dorm room, so that night when they went to bed Jenna talked to Cassidy. She did not like it here, where the hierarchy was enforced, how judgemental everyone was, how quick everyone was to just.. fight, the rumours, the nasty people... it was a lot to endure. They stayed close to each other, and Jenna was grateful that Cassidy chose her over her friends. Jenna's bad feeling about Cassidy's friends came true when she realised how they were shunned by others and had rumours spread of them. One day, she realised Cassidy hadn't gone to the dorm room yet, and had a feeling that Cassidy was recklessly confronting someone. She doesn't remember how, but she instinctively knew where Cassidy was. She helped Cassidy win the fight. Jenna was astounded that the defeated boy even thought it was a good idea to lift their head up. However, his words really hit her. Their father really loved some adopted son over her and Cassidy? Cassidy and Jenna continued to stay close, but were more closed off,, quiet and distrustful to the others around them. They sympathised the lower tiers and helped them out randomly when they were in the mood, which didn't exactly help their reputation but they didn't give a fuck. The twins disliked the royals & hierarchy in general, but knew they couldn't really do a lot about it other than help someone out occasionally. They mostly stayed together because they knew that they fought well together, and it was less likely for people to try instigating a fight if they were together. There were a few times when some arrogant assholes took them on, but they made sure to take them out. Over summer break (after their first year), Jenna and Cassidy started to question the authorities more and more due to their absence in the low tier districts. Cassidy and Jenna had to help fight off attackers quite often. The twins went out on a trip to the mall once, and they realised just how apparent the hierarchy was in the public. They hadn't exactly gone out often before. Jenna decided to start working in a mall to help their family. She found that she had to deal with more assholery customers than expected. Cassidy was escorted out several times because of her "unruly behaviour". This made Jenna feel some anger towards the security guards, but she also felt loved and happy thanks to Cassidy. In their second year, Cassidy and Jenna decided to chill in their dorms more often after the incidents. They both started to question the sanity of their classmates more often as Cassidy told Jenna about yet another incident with Cassidy's classmate.
