Konstantin (01 | ♡ Blood In The Water)

So you have them start out together and to an extent they're both skilled at killing in their own way. Tartaglia didn't like konstantin because his head wasn't in the game and konstantin was just kinda meh with how tartaglia wanted to kill things. buuut tartaglia actually gets to see how strong konstantin is and he wonders "why doesn't he want to show off his power?" so he eggs him on constantly until konstantin snaps one day just to tell him to shut up and stay in line.

so that's pretty nice for tartaglia, he has someone who can match up to him. he can see that konstantin wants to SNAP and he wants a fight, so tartaglia, being the spolistic idiot he is, thinks he's giving them both of what they want. Konstantin is strong, he likes that. Konstantin just wants to leave.

they literally both climb up the ranks at alarmingly rapid rates and it's not even a competition, they're just,,, really good. konstantin is miserable and crumpling in on himself and one time tartaglia pushed him too far and he really, really made it a fight to the death. it was so cathartic for the both of them that konstantin kind of just,,, thanked him how making him let out all that steam somehow. they both also don't realize that in their batch of recruits they were the only ones left standing.

konstantin meets tartaglia's siblings by chance and it was a strange experience wherein tartaglia basically got humanized in his eyes. he sees how much he cares for his siblings and how he's doing this for them AND because he likes to fight things. It, made him more complex to him, so it was pretty weird. it did become easier to talk to him after that, and turns out that tartaglia doesn't shut up about his siblings and how he loves all of them. there's just a new light about him and konstantin is just "ah maybe he's not THAT bad haha"

tartaglia finds out that konstantin is from a family that funds delusion research and he wonders why he's so different, maybe he's just acting? but he can read konstantin and see that he really doesnt want to be there and he hates his vision. so like, why join? Konstnatin kind of gets upset and kinda rudely says he never wanted to be here but thanks to this stupid vision here he is. then he holds up his delusion and says that this cursed thing keeps him here. he stops himself before he has a breakdown but also tartaglia just eye emojis at konstnatin, with such a fragile heart, has a delusion.

they're stuck to each other because they're from the same batch, they fight to the death, and now kostya is tartaglia's lieutenant and even tart argalia acknowledges that if konstantin's heart weren't glass, they both coulda been harbingers. kostya shrugs and says hes happy for him. feelings come around but konstantin hides it because he will be picked on for his fragile heart again but we all know childe picked it up. not as if their deathmatches already had sexual tension and they did some adrenaline filled frisky things. actually, it's realizing that tartalgia is more than just a trigger happy ass made konstya feel things. he also kind of denies that he's the reason he's mentally and emotionally less stressed than he expected to be. thanks to tartaglia, he can think straight, actually let out his anger, he still helps him in his own way and he's just soft tbh.

its only complicated because kostya makes it complicated, but ngl it did touch tart argalia a lot because wow hahah even if i am the asshole i am i can still be loved by someone outside my family? that's poggers. like, it would be nice of kostya was honest about his feelings, and he caught feelings because someone cares and actually listens to him. and also seeing kostya so alive because of him kinda got his heart going oop-
