Malik

Jet Link's grandson, Malik was known for being annoying. His favorite target of harassment and then awe was Blanche, a friend of his father's, with whom he eventually began a relationship.

When Blanche and her team felt it was time for a complete, human cybernization, Malik volunteered. They’d never been secret about their relationship but they were discreet, mostly because neither are really into PDA and there was some disapproval. Blanche was more than twenty years Malik’s senior, and then there was the generation gap. She was Francoise’s daughter, he was Jet’s grandson. It put them out in the open but more than that Blanche feared failure and harming him. However, the cybernization was successful and Malik flew before the small community. The 00 cyborgs were horrified.

Malik stopped aging but Blanche remained human. They were still together when she died of old age. He was definitely a labor of love, though. Of the new first generation of cyborgs, Malik was the only one still kicking by the time the Schism came about. After Blanche and his brothers died he started stepping back from the family, even though many were becoming cyborgs by then. Malik became the Jets’ preeminent abomination hunter and trained others but otherwise kept to himself. He was dragged out of retirement during the Schism War and was the last flight partner with Kurt. He was finally shot down in combat.
