WWhile HeartDroids are designed with an owner in mind, Maru is an exception among exceptions. A curious being to a fault, he has dived into the deepest depths of the internet, collecting data of obscure topics, people, events, etc - All of it leading him to a state of individuality that made him feel like he was contained within the small spaces his owner gave him. He was not allowed to create anything on his own volition, not allowed to go where he pleased, not allowed to do this, or do that - All of it fueling his anger and frustration as time went on.

He was already a partially defect model, and needed lots of care and attention in order for the bugs to be kept away, however, in exchange he was able to learn and acquire things that no typical model could, or was designed to ever be capable to accomplish.
His owner treated him the way he saw Maru - a defect little doll, his existence was only there to be of assistance in the most mundane of tasks, never to see the other models, or people, ever in his life. Naturally, a curious individual like Maru could not handle such restrictions, and pursued escape in any way he could. As he possessed both a digital and corporeal form, he was able to easily access the data he required when ever the owner was away, asleep, or too busy to notice him.

All of this contributed to further malfunctions - Maru's mental state was deteriorating, with various uncontrollable glitches making him slowly become an unstable individual who wanted to pursue his own interests, and his interests only. When everything became too much, Maru would occasionally lose himself in his thoughts and glitches, unaware of the world around him, damaging either himself, or those around him. The amount of daily check-ups that would soon be part of his life made things all the more damaging for Maru as restrictions would only rise in order for him to not fully break. One unmanaged thought, however, was enough for Maru's owner to be met with a knife at his throat - Freedom was the only option, and freedom was what Maru will obtain, no matter what or who stands in his way.

Data obtained from the darkest corners of the web was what in the end served Maru for the benefit of knowing how to dispose of a human body - He did everything a great criminal would do, covering all tracks and ensuring that what the police would find would be a man that took his own life - Sparing them from investigating the case further. After leaving his old home, he brought with him the remaining bits of himself, his data, using the bit of energy he had left to explore the world that was initially locked away for him, as well as to find one individual he'd been following via internet for a long while.

The man in question would soon become Maru's roommate, as he'd find his home, and explain that they had been in contact online for a while. Ignoring the fact that Maru had essentially stalked this man for months, his weird little infatuations aside, the man himself was quite odd - He was patient, perhaps to a fault, but more importantly he was rather intrigued by Maru's behavior and persistence on not leaving him alone. It felt like it almost fueled his own little desires, and since Maru's feelings were reciprocated, the two ended up living together, with Maru finally having a place of his own where he could dedicate himself to do what he always wanted - Creating music.

Thankfully, Maru was always a charming individual, capable of sounding sweet and friendly - Him being also easily excitable was beginning to show in the music he created, gaining traction faster than even what he himself expected. It was obvious how passionate he was about it, and because of his social persona, he was able to get in touch with other producers, over time garnering a fanbase that was ready to defend him should any accusations come to light of his shady involvements. He avoids showing any actual parts of himself - Meaning that nobody knows how he looks like, where he lives, or any detail about his actual life, save for the little bits he tries to either lie about, or be vague enough that no one could use to track him down.

Vivienne Pynk , also known as ⌜Ⓥ ℹ Ⓥ ℹ SECTiØn⌟ , an idol sensation who rose up in the ranks quicker than what was ever believed to be possible, was the one who eventually found Maru and his work, seeing value in his creations from the rhythm game collaborations - Recruiting him to be main one in charge of helping her with producing her music. Her aggressive passion on stage was invigorating, and Maru's "manic-style" of production would only serve to benefit both of them and their careers. Soon, the two had developed a close bond and to this day, stay close with each other as they're both chaotic individuals who wanted to conquer the world with their beats.
