She adopted a son from an adoption agency and named him Pukana. Pukana ended up passing away due to the birth defect he had. (Pukana was a real gosling whom I loved allot which is why I made him a character) Katelynne could not sleep and would drink and take sleeping pills to try and get some rest. Eventually she decided to go on a cruise with the last of her savings which could have paid his hospital bill if he hadn't passed. She met Adalaide on the cruise and they hit it off. Adalaide lives a few hours from her and they ended up visiting and whatnot, they aren't officially a couple yet.
