Discretion

Discretion is one of the Angels of Wonder, a faction of Brethren (angels) who love and cherish the physical world and its beings. As such, he takes the form of a mortal being, in this case a cat changeling. His true form has not been seen in well over a thousand years, and he may not even be capable of using it anymore.

His mortal form is in fact, even more mortal than most of the other Angels of Wonder. He realized there was one thing that was keeping him from truly understanding the thinking mortals of the earth and sky. He asked the Angel of Trust, a shaper of flesh and soul, to give him the one thing that truly sets him apart from them- mortality. Unlike other angels, he is quite capable of dying, and understandably, he fears the death that will keep him from completing his duty as a defender of the Divine Plan.

Nowadays, he seems dependent on Sage (the Angel of Wisdom), for guidance and divination of what the Divine Plan requires. Mortality had the effect of reducing his power and his efficiency, and Sage is understandably rather frustrated at that.

He seems to be an expert shapeshifter, but this isn't true. Rather, he is a very accomplished illusionist, using telepathic powers to make himself appear and sound like another being. He likes to use this ability to the hilt.
