Sidney is a half mernag. He is capable of transforming from merman to naga at will, but since he's a hybrid he's long for a typical non-eel merman and he's short for a naga when in naga form.
This, along with his mernag father abandoning him and his mother helped foster his cold demeanor and dislike of others. Especially land species.
But thanks to his unique and flexible body Sidney found a love for and career in figure dancing. This has made him popular enough to begrudgingly be used as a model for photoshoots.
This attention is both a blessing and curse for him since he hates interacting with people, but the popularity lets him live off what he loves to do.
It's through one of his modelling sessions that he first encounters the mernag that will become his boyfriend, Lynn. And Lynn is the only person that is able to bring out Sidney's softer side.
