Headstrong and noble, Aluber has an incredibly strong sense of justice. Having survived a brutal ambush as a foot soldier he has since climbed the ranks and earned the moniker The Ice Knight. He is the rank of a captain, however, he does not command any squadrons. Aluber is known for working alone and almost never needing back-up or assistance from others. He's considered cold and introverted, though if approached or addressed he will respond politely.

Summary

Aluber started as any other ambitious commoner, he dreamt of becoming a knight someday. Al comes from a middle class family which provided him ample means to enlist to become part of the town guard. From there he was able to make it as a foot soldier amongst the kingdom's many squadrons. Bright eyed and hopeful he fulfilled his duties admirably, not even the sleezy attitude of his superior could dampen his spirits.

His superiors, however, were higly corrupt and only ever looked down on lower ranked knights. Knowing the next mission was something foot soldiers couldn't handle they sent Aluber's squadron to a far off, run down, village which bordered dangerously close to goblin territory. They were told it would be a simple reconesance and that the village had been free of attacks for the duration of it's lifespan. Foolishly believing their superiors the small group of knights left and upon arrival were quickly overrun by and abush of goblins accompanied by a large troll. Flames engulfed the village as soldiers and village inhabitants both screamed in terror and agony. The large troll demolished and decimated the village. Aluber was one of the few still left standing in a heaving panic as he begged for his fellow comrades to "Hang in there!", he had the quick thinking to send someone back to the kingdom for aid and they needed only to hold on til they arrived.

The struggle was for naught, for soon nearly every life had been snuffed out in the village, resident and soldier alike. Corpses littered the streets and river, only Aluber remained. His body battered as he had fallen to his knees from exhaustion and defeat. He thought back to the snickering faces of his superiors as he realized too late that this had all been futile from the start. They had been sent to their deaths...and for what? Because their superiors thought it would be amusing? Because they thought so little of those beneath them? That none of their lives mattered?

Aluber felt as if he had been run through by the sharpest, coldest blade as the contagion of betrayl spread in his heart. His very body shook with silent rage. So much so he failed to notice that he had been surrounded by what remained of the goblins and looming over his small form was the troll which ravaged everything. It poised to attack only for it's raised arm to be severed and rigid ice consumed the portion that remained. In a beastly rage it roared smashing its fist upon the ground and stomping which tremoured the ground beneath it. Aluber stood silent as his sword hissed with a frosty chill, when the beast made to attack it was frozen in a burg of ice within an instant. The goblins chittered and shreaked in confusion and panic as Aluber turned on his heel and with his own cry of rage he felled each goblin which dared face him.

Upon the back-up's arrival there was naught to find but ruin, fire, and ice. Found collapsed against the frozen troll was Aluber, unconscious. He was quickly returned to the kingdom and given treatment for his wounds. However, when he returned to the waking world he was not the Aluber others remembered. His eyes were cold and exhausted, no light shined within his cerulean irises. He submitted his report to the commander of knights and the knights in charge of his squadron were appropriately punished. Aluber was given a temporary discharge from his duties until he fully recuperated from his ordeal in the comfort of his newly provided private quarters in the Knights Quarter of the castle grounds.

For months it seemed he showed no signs of change, his stare as lifeless as since he woke. He had frequent visitors, though they did not linger long when they realized Al was not as talkative as he once was. He struggled to find his purpose for being a knight anymore, wishing that he too had perished alongside his comrades instead of having to watch as they were mutulated and killed. But then, what meaning would his survival have meant? If he doesn't live for them and change how things are, more young knights like them would suffer the same fate. Upon this realization is when Aluber finds his new resolve, no longer does he wish to be a knight simply for the shining glory like in fairy tales. No, he would become a knight powerful enough to change the corrupt system which permits the needless deaths of lives who had yet to leave their mark.

Tirelessly he worked once returning to his duties. Relentless was he to improve himself, and claimed the power he desired. No longer was he the naive boy, he was calm, calculated, and certain of himself and his abilities. Naturally, he rose in rank with the passage of time until finally as a man he stands at the rank of Captain.
