Boumobaku

Despite what all the cold colours Boumobaku wears might imply, he has a very warm and radiant personality. He's all smiles and open arms, ready to make friends wherever he goes. He's very cheerful and the person to go to if someone wants to chase away their blues, as Boumobaku always has some fun brewing up his sleeve and even if somehow someone managed to catch him unprepared, he'll come up with a joyful activity on the spot just fine. He's not afraid to put himself out there or be the first one to engage with others, loves to take dares and prove his courage whenever the opportunity presents itself.

It's almost like he has an endless reservoir of energy, always fidgeting and moving around even after some intense training or otherwise draining activity that would leave others spent and unable to move a muscle. He just can't sit still and when forced to he'll still swing a leg around, pick at his bracelet or strum at his chest. Alongside the constant movement, he tends to make constant noise too. Not that he really means to, but he's just a rambunctious person who talks or hums a lot, as well as is attracted to activities on the louder side.

Perhaps a part of why he is so loud is because to a degree he's starved for attention, since he never quite got as much of it as he wanted from his parents due to being a child among many and at that always had to share it with his twin brother, who in his opinion was always better at things. Whenever he sees an opportunity and sometimes even when he doesn't, Boumobaku will try to be at the center of whatever is going on and do the most outrageous things in hopes to awe the people around him. He's always beyond delighted whenever he gets a compliment or a different positive response.

He has a very hard time learning new skills, they just don't seem to stick in his head even if he does somehow manage to scrape up a moment of focus. Which rarely happens, he just gets distracted too easily by the smallest of things. It is better if it's something he can learn while doing, something tangible and touchable, but even then he has troubles. He tend to laugh off this inability by claiming he lacks interest in the skill or motivation, but that's rarely true. He generally prefers to avoid conflict and deflects a lot if he senses one coming, but when push comes to shove, he will stand his ground. After all he has been taught in the ways of samurai, and while not everything stuck, enough did to make him a good fighter with strong beliefs.

Boumobaku has a lot to show off, from nicely carved out biceps to heavy pecs that make some women jealous. While average height, he has quite some weight to throw around and sports a muscular figure. Due to constantly being out and about under the scorching sun, he has tan skin marked up with thin fading scars. Most assume that they are from epic battles conquered on his way to becoming a samurai, but actually the majority of his scars are from dumb accidents and various childish shenanigans. His most unusual trait are the four protrusions on his chest that can make a lot of noise, anything between the sounds of a bass guitar and purring.

For a guy, he has a very round face flanked by huge and rather mobile ears, both of which are twice pierced. The dark blue of his eyes can be hard to see, especially if he’s squinting, due to how narrow his eyes are. He has rather long lashes and permeant blue bags under his eyes. He has long powder blue hair with a violet streak in the front that reaches past the ground when loose, thus why he usually keeps it in a braid. His mohawk is cut in a V shape, getting wider towards his nape.

Clothing style:

If he could, Boumobaku would walk around naked. However since he can’t, he instead reaches for clothes that touch his skin as little as possible, preferring loose fitting and single layer outfits. Comfort is his priority and everything else comes second. A lot of his clothes are custom made, so he has a say in the colours and patterns. In terms of colours he’s happy with anything in the purple range with a dash of light blue mixed in somewhere. He adores funky patterns, they’re just a lot of fun, and he’s especially happy if they include daffodils since they’re his favourite flower.

Another thing of upmost importance to him is jewellery, he can’t go without it and prefers the pieces to match with each other. Earrings are never optional, and he’ll always have bracelets on his wrists and ankles if he has any say in his outfit. Sadly, that isn’t always the case, as coming from a high status family means he has to attend important events and dress appropriately regardless of how much he hates it. Whenever he wears full formal attire, pieces of it tend to be tugged out of place and loosened since he can’t help struggling with the suffocating fabric.

• Katana scabbard – he has a hard time holding onto them and thus often has to replace it. Usually he can’t find a one that matches his sword and has to suffer the embarrassment that comes with having a mismatched set;
• A full jewellery set – a light purple spiked themed set that includes a hair tie, two ankle and two wrist bracelets, two sets of earrings and a sash tie.

Ability: Punk rock - boosts sound-based moves and halves damage from the same moves.

Moves:

• Overdrive | Electric | Special | 100% accuracy | 80 power – deals damage and has no additional effects.
• Sludge Wave | Poison | Special | 100% accuracy | 95 power – deals damage and has a 10% chance of poisoning the target.
• Rising Voltage | Electric | Special | 100% accuracy | 70 power – the user attacks with electric voltage rising from the ground. This move’s power doubles when the target is on Electric Terrain.
• Boomburst | Normal | Special | 100% accuracy | 140 power – deals massive damage and targets all adjacent Pokémon in battle, including allies.

Background: Scorched Mountain is the home of many big and powerful samurai clans, and Boumobaku happens to be born into one of them. The Ryoshinkan family mostly consists of poison types, with the current family heads and all their children being from the toxel line. They possess massive lands and are quite well known and generally liked by their people.

Life: Being a child from a powerful family covered in luxury is unusual, but a few can brag that their family is the size of Boumobaku's consisting of two fathers, three mothers and nine, soon to be ten, siblings. And that's not even counting all the grandparents, uncles and aunts! He also had the luck of being a twin, so loneliness wasn't something he ever had to worry about, always surrounded by playmates ready for some shenanigans and loving parents. Though as he grew older and their family bigger, getting his fill of affection became harder, especially since he didn't seem to have been blessed with the talents his older brothers had and struggled to pick up things as quickly as they did, so he found himself looking for new places to get it from. This lead to a habit of sneaking out of their grand home into the commoner streets looking for adventures and new people to impress. During one such trips he encountered a little boy he made fast friends with and thus gained another reason to leave the house when no one was looking.

Of course, he still loved his family immeasurably, and developed an especially strong bond with his father, who was a lot more aware of his child's escapades than Boumobaku ever knew and sent a bodyguard to look after from afar over the wandering kid. This set up lasted for a while until one day, his secret and beloved vanished to thin air. No matter how hard he looked, there was not a trace of the other child and Boumobaku was absolutely heartbroken. However that was far from the last or worst wound his heart would have to suffer through in his life. Years passed, the little boy growing to become a samurai worthy of his family name, going through endless lessons that often left him frustrated to tears and many spar sessions with his brothers to blow off some steam. Many younger siblings appeared and Boumobaku did his best to be a good model for them and a great older brother, though even he with his big heart and endless love ended up picking favourites.

All was well, until it wasn't. A tragedy struck their family when one night a stranger sneaked into their home and took the life of Boumobaku's beloved father. Up to this day he has felt no pain that could match the one he felt when he heard the news and swore vengeance on the killer. His family wasn't supportive of this pursuit to his shock and confusion, and demanded he dropped this 'fruitless' goal or he'd lose their family name and his status as a samurai. He refused. So now while he's still welcome at his home and sometimes stays there as well as often visits, he's no longer officially considered a part of the family and has taken the profession of a bounty hunter in hopes it will help him get closer to the man he wishes to slay.
