About
Lock 0 is a Cataphract clone that defected from the Stelis Bridge—and more specifically the House Hymn—army on Ides after the death of their partner, Key 0. Standing tall and large at 6'3", they are a quiet person who is partial to stealth and negotiations over violence, but they are also practical and tactically-minded, and don't hesitate to use force when they deem it necessary.
Outside of tactical settings they find themself to be extremely awkward as they don't quite relate to the "human" experience, and prefer comfortable silence to small talk. They are quick to grow attached and base their strong sense of duty in individual people instead of factions or employers.
History
The Lock & Key Tango Pilot models were produced on Ides in the years following the Moonfall of Ifey, in response to the surge in conflict between the Stelis Bridge and the Endless Chapter. Created with custom machines and immediately sent through the clone academy of Castle Vocalion, Lock and Key were made to be Special Operations agents; stealing intel and capturing high-ranking personel from the opposition was their designated specialty.
When each of them first woke up, exactly at the same time, the first thing Lock and Key 0 felt were each other, before they could even parse that they themselves existed. They've always had a curiously strong psychic connection, even for a Cataphract pair, and that may have been one of the reasons they performed so well as a duo during the worst of the post-moonfall conflict. At some point early on in their service, they were paired into a small squad with another Cataphract duo, Beck 9 and Call 7. Lock and Key still performed their own Spec Ops missions, but more and more they became part of this tactical strike team designed to open up enemy defenses from the inside and let the heavy cavalry in.
Eventually, a number of years after Lock and Key had become an official item, the House Hymn sent their youngest child and her forces—the Vesper Chapel—to Ides. Castle Vocalion, powerful on Ides and Ides only, gifted Lock's strike squad to the Vesper Chapel as a sign of good will between subfactions. Lock and Key served under Blase Hymn and her Chapel for a good few years before they were sent on a mission that went catastrophically terrible. Key was killed—and their mech destroyed—attempting to protect Lock from an opposing Waltz, and Lock immediately escaped, defecting from the Stelis army and fleeing into Aeon Group territory, where they eventually took up transport work in Tinseltown.

Relationships
Deceased at 20, Key 0 was both Lock's cataphract partner and their life partner. They were the other half of the Spec Ops Tango Unit Lock & Key, and the first clone of the Key model printed. They had a successful run in the Bridge together for 20 years, working under both Castle Vocalion and House Hymn, until Key was killed in battle on a mission gone catastrophic.
Their death was the most traumatizing thing to ever happen to Lock, who had been deeply psychically linked to them since they both first awakened, and it immediately prompted them to defect from the Stelis army. Lock still struggles most days to be happy without their partner.
A pre-moonfall Dime (Cascerne Clone) with a rapid aging misprint, Griselda was one of Lock's teammates in Chymera Company. They consider her to be their best friend and quickly found out that they have a lot in common. They like to see her do well just as much as she likes for them, and finds she's one of the people they don't feel all too awkward talking to.
Lock settled down in a house with Griselda on Old Grove after escaping with the Allied Wreath, very happy to spend as much time as possible with their best friend and help her out as she got older and older, and eventually passed away.
A young orphaned teen trying to earn his siblings' custody from Castle Vocalion, Cole was another one of Lock's teammates in Chymera Co. They aren't the closest necessarily, but Lock still cares for Cole dearly and considers him family. They've had their fair share of awkward moments, but Lock has made it clear that if Cole ever needs their help, he has it.
A young man with a troubled past trying to get by and make a name for himself, Strider is another of Lock's teammates from Chymera Co. Lock has never had any hard feelings against Strider, but initially suspected he would not take their job seriously, which they now feel bad for believing.
Strider's attempts to look cool come off as very goofy and laid-back, but underneath the front he is someone that struggles deeply with their own self-worth. Lock cares for Strider deeply and considers him family, and would like for him to take better care of himself.
