born and raised in rural italy by a lower-class family who had enough to make ends meet but not much more. had a fire in his heart for english/america starting in his childhood that his ever-loving parents supported to the best of their (financial) ability, but most of his success in school was due purely to his own passion for learning and his diligence in his studying. started working as young as he possibly could and saved practically every penny his whole life to fund his relocation to America. he didn't discover his passion for cooking until he worked a job as a bus boy in a family-owned traditional italian restaurant, where he eventually ended up being mentored by the head chef who pushed him forward in his pursuit of his dreams. all his hard work payed off, and when he graduated from high school he was able to move to america to go to culinary school. after school he moved and worked in a professional kitchen for a couple years before moving to NYC, where he landed as a sous-chef under mauro
