Haru is a freed genie that cares more for the well being of the people around him while working as a shrine priest while living there. He's rarely seen out in public but is seen running a stall at almost every festival in Japan. While he knows little magic, he practiced to make spells that end up helping people have better luck or fortune, though he uses it on those in clear desperate need for it. There are even times where he is in his Geisha appearance from back in the Feudal Japan years, even seen sometimes in it at night on a simple walk, leading to some urban stories related to his look. If you do find him, you can be guaranteed to have a friendly smile and demeanor greet you when you do. When you don't see him, maybe look for him around a pond, perhaps he's resting his head right next to the edge.

Long Story:

Haru was originally a human farmer, born in the feudal era of Japan. He remembers very little though, fuzzy images of him around a large family in a small hut, and the sun beaming down what he would know now as rice fields are the few memories he does remember out of the many that were lost. One memory he remembers clearly is the night he was changed. He was tired and dehydrated as he went into town to get supplies for the family. He spotted what looked like a vendor's cart, filled with material desires from far away lands. It was hard to tell if it was due to pity for how Haru looked or there was a sly grin upon her face but she gave Haru what looked like a drinking within a lovely looking bottle, one that would fit in Egypt. He was feeling so weak that he began chugging down the drink, as it tasted more like a fruity non-alcoholic sake. Before he knew it, his legs began getting warm before fading away, his attire's dirt and tears were cleaned and sown away. He stood looking cleaner and healthier than he had ever been, only from the waist down he now had a dark blue genie tail, his left eye burned a bit before it was turned into a silver eye. Before realizing it he was sucked into the bottle, now his vessel, and remained stuck there for a long time.

Many moons past and his vessel ended up being picked up by a servant, who was looking for a gift to give his Daimyo. It was oddly cheap and neglected, dust and dirt stuck to the glass, and when given to the Daimyo it came off as more of a simple gift. But he dusted it off that night, and Haru appeared right before him, both looking confused and shocked. As both began to understand each other, the Daimyo understood the treasure he was given and decided to try to use it for his own without hitting into some of the rules of the Genies. He only wanted one wish, to be able to see into the future so he could strategize better and see how he can benefit his people. The rest of the time, he commanded Haru to be one of his Geishas to hide his appearance and as a way to stay close to him. Overtime, the Daimyo would come to greatly appreciate what Haru could do, from heating his drinks and food to the right amount, all the way to understanding little flaws in his castle. The longer it went on, the more affectionate the Daimyo was towards Haru, with him often feeling confused and later conflicted. Time would not last though, as the castle was then raided and set ablaze. The Daimyo was killed and then Haru was sucked back into his vessel, unable to save him and becoming a piece of jewelry to be washed away by the rain.

Time passes and a monk ends up finding his vessel resting on a river bank. He takes it to his home and releases him. Haru emerges in shock since it felt so long since he was last released. The monk almost immediately freed him, acting in good faith, as Haru felt himself freed from his vessel but no longer tapped into the magic like he use to be. The monk began teaching him, what happened to the world and to try to help him find a more inner peace. Haru later noticed that his home was a shrine, but hid away so people would not notice. The monk ended up focusing all his energy into helping the people in need along with those in pray, something that Haru ended up taking closer and closer to heart as he spent more time with him. However, the monk ended up passing away in his sleep, Haru ended up becoming responsible for the shrine and all who enter.

In modern day, Haru has become more comfortable with his role at the Shrine and even has become much calmer. However, he rarely is seen in public now these days. Some seeing a shrine priest that looks much like him taking care of it, those who have lived long say it's the myth of the ageless priest. But it's almost guaranteed to see him running a stall at any festival, from foods to games he becomes a familiar face. And there are even moments, where he ends up using his old Geisha look at night when wanting to go out on a stroll.
