bio: yarbakam is a fallen angel who was banished from heaven after breaking a few of their many unspoken rules. now they live in the suburbs of hell, where they may occasionally go out for a cup of coffee, but other than that they're pretty reclusive. they're rather introverted and quiet, not because they're socially awkward, but moreso because they just prefer being alone. they use much of that alone time to pursue the study of black magic.
their interest began all the way back when they still lived in heaven. they had managed to get a hold of a "forbidden" book, and within it they discovered an array of spells, curses, and incantations that they found highly captivating. this motivated them to look for more books on the topic, however they were not able to keep their passion a secret for long. once an archangel found out about the books they had been keeping, they were promptly stripped of their angelic status and exiled from heaven.
this didn't stop them though, shortly after renting an apartment in hell they continued to collect literature on black magic, along with other things such as ritual materials and mystical objects. over the course of the next few years they learned minor shapeshifting and conjuring skills, limited control over hellfire, and a variety of hexes. they eventually opened a small store near their apartment so they could share what they had been gathering. they tend to keep to themself in their own little dimly lit corner of the shop, but they're more than happy to infodump about anything and everything black magic if you ask them.
kam feels very strongly about certain things, but they don't really show it because of their reserved nature. they have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor which they frequently use to cope with stress. they can appear apathetic or uncaring at times, but they are a loyal friend to those who are willing to understand them. while magic is their main interest, they also take intrigue in things like unsolved mysteries, video games, music, horror movies, and cheesy documentaries.
