Your childhood is something that stays with you for your entire life
The thrill of simple pleasures
like catching bugs in your hands
or splashing in the creek in the woods behind your house
or climbing on things that you weren't exactly meant to climb on
fades with time
You still revisit them
like an old friend grown apart after years passed
They were right in saying it was a simpler time
That little girl with dirt on her cheeks
may be gone forever
But she's still inside of you somewhere
running through the grass,
blowing dandelions,
and she always will be
