Detective Darling is quite eccentric; and not as humble.
Jenny Darling grew up in an environment of excessive learning; her parents encouraged her, and she was overall a genius. They hoped one day that their prodigy-child would become a famous doctor. And for a while- it seemed she would, her parents telling relatives, 'Oh, she'll cure cancer one day.'
Until she got her hands on a copy of the complete stories of sherlock holmes. Then on agatha christie. Detectives quickly became an obsession for her, her consumption of film noir becoming greater than her consumption of factual information; the textbooks were replaced with copies of Hercule Poirot's escapades.
She now regards herself on-par with Detective Sherlock Holmes, running a business quite adjacent to his fictional one. Most who had come to her for help would agree; though they would quickly remark that her odd way of dress and edwardian-era mannerisms were odd, and one should be careful with negatively remarking upon it.
