The caribou of Equestria reside between the Neighagra Falls and Crystal Mountains, in an area known as Manetoba. In the past they were governed by a royal family, but in recent times they have abandoned such leadership in favor of a more communal lifestyle. They tend to keep to themselves for the most part, but have good relations with the Yaks and the Crystal Empire, trading with them occasionally. Caribou have both a winter and a summer coat; generally winter coats tend to be lighter and summer coats tend to be darker, although variation is common. Both male and female caribou have antlers.
