About
Sarpedon was king of Lycia and one of Troy's most important allies during the war. He was known as a great strategist and a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. He and his soldiers did much of the early fighting during the trojan war. So much so that he taunted Hector about him doing the heavy lifting while the Trojans stood by in thier own war.
Death
During the climax of the war Sarpedon himself took to the battlefield. He slayed many enemies of Troy but his reign eventually came to an end when he came face to face with a man whom he assumed to be Achilles. Instead though, it was Achilles' lover, Patroclus that Sarpedon faced. He mistook him for the other because he was wearing his armor and Sarpedon, while rivals with Achilles had never been aquainted with him in person. During the face off Sarpedon fell to Patroclus' blade and perished on the battlefield thinking it was Achilles whom was to blame for his death.
When he fell, before he breathed his last breath he called to his ally Glaucus to retrieve his body and be sure he was given proper funeral rites. After he'd passed on the Greeks and Lycian's began to battle over who would gain possesion of the fallen King's body. During the struggle the Greeks stripped his body of his armor and his body was battered more than it had been during his own fight. However the Lycian's, with the assistance of Thanatos and Hypnos, eventually did get their King's body back. They then gave it to the gods of death and sleep to be cleaned and returned to Lycia for the proper burial that the King had requested.
Afterlife
When Sarpedon awoke after falling in battle it was Thanatos that he first saw. The God of Death was carrying his soul from his furneral to the Temple of Styx where he'd be ferried into the underworld. Thanatos, though stoic was gentle and kind with him. He explained what had happened to him and that he had been granted his last wishes in life. He now would be taken to the underworld where it would be determined how he'd live out his afterlife.
Hades, seeing how Sarpedon had fought in life had him brought to his own home. He would live out his days in the House of Hades tending to the weaponry and on call should the need for a war strategist should ever arise.

Relationships
Thantos and his brother Hypnos were the ones who saved Sarpedon's body from being desictated after he fell in battle. They returned his body to his home of Lycia for proper burial. Because Thantos was the first face he saw after death he credits him heavily with saving his body and therefore respects and thanks him greatly. It's because of this that he eventually begins to develope romantic feelings for the God of Dead during his time in the Underworld.
Initially Sarpedon is rather contempeted with the Prince of the Underworld, though not through any fault of his own. Because Zagreus was trained by Achilles, Sarpedon believes his training is incomplete. It only becomes worse when the Prince begins dating Thanatos, whom Sarpedon has been secretly harboring feelings for. Eventually though he speaks with the two and Zagreus agrees to allow Thanatos to have a relationship with the hero as well. Soon Sarpedon offers to begin training Zagreus to strenghten their relationship and it eventually turns into romantic feelings for him as well.
Hypnos assisted his brother in taking care of Sarpedon's body after he'd fallen in war. While he's not as close with him as he is with Thanatos, he does regard him with great respect. He's one of the few house members that regularly talks to Hypnos and does so without any mallice.
Achilles and Sarpedon were rivals in life. Though it was in fact Patroclus that ended Sarpedon's life he was wearing Achilles' armor and Sarpedon mistook him for the other. Even in death Sarpedon believes it was Achilles who killed him and holds a grudge against him.
Patroclus was the one whom actually killed Sarpedon in battle. After it's revealed to him, Sarpedon becomes very bitter with both Achilles, for allowing him to believe he'd killed him, and Patroclus for actually besting him in battle.
