About

The fairytales that we know are actually real and exist in another plane of existence called the Enchanted Forest. The stories may not be quite what you imagine, either. You still have your princes and princesses and evil queens and kings...but are they quite so good? Are they quite so evil?

The Evil King, Kent, placed a curse on the Enchanted Forest which brought all of them from their land of fantasy and magic to a world devoid of all magic, placing them in a bubble in the little town of Storybrooke. No one could come in and no one could come out. The queens Lou and Rylee had planned for this curse and sent their young son, Carter, through an enchanted wardrobe ahead of time so he would not suffer the amnesiac consequences of the curse and could still save them. Unfortunately life was not king to Carter.

He grew up in the foster system, never having a family of his own. He eventually turned to petty crime to make money after he ran away from the system. He met Osanna, another girl his age who he hit it off with. They became something of an item together and unbeknownst to Carter, Osanna became pregnant but they had a falling out in a thievery gone wrong that left Carter in jail and Osanna free as a bird.

It's not until Carter is twenty-eight that he learns that he has a son, when that son shows up at his front door begging Carter to come home with him. Before long, Carter is dragged to Storybrooke and the more he learns about the town, his son's supposed delusions, and the weird mixed-signals he gets from Sonam's adoptive father Kent, the more he feels inclined to stick around and make sure that his son is being raised in a healthy environment. And, maybe, try to get Sonam to stop believing that the entire town is made of fairytale characters from another world.
