Crypt, despite his menacing outside appearance and persona, is quite the soft and loving dragon. He's been a prisoner of the SporeWing witches for quite some time, and has suffered immensely, both physically and mentally.
His mother, who was also a fourth class SporeWing could barely get a hold of the recourses needed to take care of her son. She worked whatever odd jobs she could and often stole just to keep him fed. He never received an education, and always knew he would be condemned to the same life as his mother once he was older, since moving up into the third class simply wasn't realistic.
He had been effectively sold by someone who he considered a friend to the witch's prisons for his poisonous mushrooms. He had been lured into a trap so that the witches could capture him. His former friend had walked away with a hefty reward for this stunt. Although the witches did keep him alive, the living conditions were sub-par. By the time he had ended up in Hex's talons, he was in quite the rough shape, and needed a lot of time to recover, both physically and mentally.
Once Crypt came to live with Hex, he soon found that unlike the other witches, she would not harvest his mushrooms for spells, potions, and whatever nonsense they were up to.
