Deymos is meant to look androgynous, with both masculine and feminine traits.
Deymos is the son of Asphodel and Lilith. An only child, Deymos lost his parents in the third war (WoW setting) and was essentially orphaned. Abylene and Astra are his aunts. Abylene assumed he was dead because she was distraught and was gone before he was discovered. Astra found him and set him up in the orphanage before joining the high elves in Dalaran.
Asphodel and Abylene tried to teach him the ways of the Farstriders, however he was awful with a bow. So Asphodel, Lilith and Astra tried to help him train as a mage, which he was also had a hard time grasping. After being orphaned, he researched fel and warlock magics. This resided with him somehow in the way nothing else had.
He continues to study warlock magic while having a menagerie of traditionally unattractive companions. He feels that someone has to love them. He is now trying to piece together the traditions of his family (image of him trying to braid his hair). The men of the family have braids, but he keeps his long hair as a memento to him and his mother bonding over taking care of it.
