Lauderdale runs a prominent gentlemen's club that is exclusive for the upper class. To the rest of the public, it is just a regular gentlemen's club. However, once inside, this social club holds many events and entertainment for their guests. Some of these entertainment are illegal; including a fightclub.
Lauderdale is very friendly and welcomes his guests with open arms. But only to those who are 'worthy' of his time. Besides that, if he sees no value in someone, he will not invest time on them. Quite the selfish snob, yes.
