Nightface was born into a broken family. Her father abandoned the clans only later to be found dead in the permafrost, and her mother was as self-centered as could be. The only way Night got any attention or praise was if she was being silent and pretty, like a statuette. Even as an apprentice, she felt she was passed over for opportunities because she wasn't supposed to excell in anything besides being pretty. When she approached Ploverstar about it, he told her she was making it up as his warriors wouldn't pass her up without a valid reason.

After moons of being passed up for opportunities, Nightpaw became angry and interjected herself for the opportunities she wanted, taking them from others as that was the only way for her to get chosen. She became known for sniping patrol spots, but for the first time she was known for something other than being pretty. This led her down a path of being cut-throat and ruthless in terms of getting what she wanted, taunting others and manipulating them into giving her what she wanted, when she wanted it. With a pretty face asking for a small favor, no one had an issue with it, and she was very rarely turned down.

However, at her warrior ceremony she was still named for her beauty, graduating to warrior having her only notable achievement being something she didn't control. Of course, she wouldn't complain because she _was_ pretty, she just wanted to be more than her suffix would allow her to be. At first rage filled her, and she began to enter fights recklessly, and when she got a long slash down the side of her face she prayed that her beauty would be ruined. To her dismay, the "imperfection" added to her allure as a warrior.

After getting her scar, Nightface gave up fighting it and leaned heavily into using her beauty into getting what she wanted, getting nearly everything she asked for. Despite having everything her heart desired, she felt an emptiness gnawing at the pit of her very being. Nightface didn't want a mate, but she felt as though she needed kits.

When Nightface had kits she recognized her calling. The empty pit was filled with ooey gooey love for the tiny lives she brought into the world, a feeling that was alien to her. Despite her manipulative and cold nature, if one were to see Nightface in the nursery they would see an entirely different cat. She became a doting mother, however that did not extinguish her firey heart.
