"Chris"
They have no physical form in our dimension. Some might argue they're not even real. But they do have the ability to appear in people's dreams, taking on whatever form is suitable for the dream and the dreamer. In Stella's case, Chris appears as an androgynous man with long black hair, emerald green eyes, and different styles of similarly colored hanfu (shades of green with black and white and sometimes hints of yellow/blue). No one, not even Alex, knows their true form.
While dreams tend to shift and change on their own anyway, Chris has the power to control them too. They can stop the time, make it go faster or slower, skip periods of time entirely, and reverse the flow of time. They can also make things instantly appear or disappear, or transform things into other things that wouldn't be possible in real life. If Chris had a physical form, they would be able to do these in our dimension too.
