Revenant (Autumn Raven)

Years 1-4

     April Hall's childhood was less than pleasant. The first thirteen years were spent under the "care" of her crime lord father, August Hall. His educational style was abusive and efficient. If she didn't learn enough, there were consequences. Through this education, she learned the foundations for the skills she would perfect later in life. She learned elegance and movement through ballet and gymnastics, she learned mechanics and other hard sciences, she learned politics and crime, and to top it all off she learned a lesson that warped her perspective on life. Hit harder than the ones that hit you. After her father took his abuse too far, acting on a threat to April's sister June, April decided to fight her way out of the family. Taking her sister and burning down her childhood prison at the age of thirteen, she embarked on an even harder life on the streets of Diamond city. 

     Renaming herself Autumn Raven, (Her sister following suit and renaming herself Kory Raven) she began to use the skills she learned before to overcome the trials of the city. Initially, she was very unsuccessful. She was deeply unprepared to survive in an environment that didn't rely on her math skills or ability to a somersault. Eventually, through blood and struggle, most of it hers, she became adapted to her new home. Meeting a retired member of the Ukrainian mob definitely helped her survive the five years she spent on the streets.

     Then AbGen happened. A new era came and Autumn was one of the ten or so percent of people who gained extraordinary powers. Sitting alone in the abandoned warehouse she stole from her father, she was hit with the impossible wave of sentient energy and was granted the power to see weaknesses in structures, people, and much more, as well as the ability to charge energy into a physical weakness and destroy it. With this new power, she reconstructed her plan to take down her father and anyone else abusing the city and its people. 

     Soon after realizing her own powers, she found her sister had a similar ability to degrade or oxidize matter. the pair were The Renegade and Rust, and for the first few weeks they fought street level crime, training for something bigger. Not long after beginning her practice in crime fighting, Ren began to aim higher and higher on the criminal ladder. Her various targets soon became mob bosses rather than dealers, then she aimed too high. She aimed at Edward Eden. Eden had been supplying her father and most other criminal syndicates weapons and technology for as long as Eden Advanced Technology had existed. A true genius in his own right, criminal and technological, He posed the greatest threat that Ren had come across. He owned politicians, media, criminals. He had control over nearly a third of everything that went on in Diamond. 

     Ren began her attacks against this giant with simple heists to steal technology and supplies she needed for her operation. Through these heists, she met Elizabeth Eden, Edward's disgruntled daughter who was trying to take down EAT from the inside out. the pair became fast friends then business partners within weeks. A greater scale heist was planned to steal both Elizabeth and a drive containing a massive collection of incriminating evidence that was supposed to take down Eden. This heist was at least half successful. 

     The new pair of Autumn and Elizabeth started scrapping plans and starting again to now take control of EAT as opposed to taking it down. During this redevelopment time, they decided to hire two new additions, the heroes Helio and Kinetic. They later also hire a powered surgeon called Patchwork to keep the fatality of the job low. 

     Deciding to expand their plans to focus on both of their fathers, they begin a series of attacks on every supply line, dealer, warehouse, and thug. Eventually they get August's empire to the point where it is hemorrhaging money by the hour. Autumn takes this opportunity to confront her now vulnerable father. After a reasonably lengthy shouting match, Autumn takes out her gun and fires on her father. His body hits the floor and it's over.

     weeks later, she devotes her time back to taking down Eden and the remnants of her father's empire. She eventually confronts Eden in a similar way to her own father, but this time she brought Elizabeth, codenamed 0ps. The pair expect to just threaten him and show him the things falling apart around him, then he would just surrender, but Eden instead doubles down, saying that something bigger than him is in the city and Ren and co aren't capable of taking that down. he appears to blow up an elevator shaft behind him then in the explosion he disappears deeper into the now blast riddled Diamond Tower. Ren chases him down and eventually drags his beaten body back in front of 0ps, so she could finish the confrontation. Holding a gun to his head, Ren tries to get him to surrender but he instead smiles, pulls the gun, making it go off in his chest, then in the confusion dives again into the wreckage before another explosion goes off, keeping anyone from following. 

     A couple of months pass as Ren begins to use the assets she seized after Eden's apparent death to develop newer and better weapons and tools to take control of the city. she develops a single person stealth craft called the Wyvern and begins to develop a mechanical solution to her partner's slow genetic disease. 

     Then things go to shit again. A new group of criminals calling themselves the Northsiders (named for the city's extremely impoverished northern slums) start to rapidly claim territory and power, rivaling that of Eden and Hall in their times. A two year war follows, the Renegade and her team verses this chess themed crime syndicate. near the end of the second year, the Northsiders have a massive shift in leadership, from the white king and queen to the Red Queen and her obviously subservient Red King. These new leaders were far more violent, practically killing whole neighborhoods to enforce their power. Ren takes a more violent approach in turn, brutalizing and killing members of the higher court to tear her way to the top and take out the Red Queen.

     After one particularly brutal night, Ren endured wave after wave of various powered brutes, after hours of fighting standing over their unconscious or dead bodies. Then the Red Queen marches in the building with her entourage of powered enforcers behind her and seeing the Renegade in action, sets her enforcers on the vigilante then leaves and drops the entire building on all of them.

     the blast killed just about everyone in the building and the Renegade herself was bleeding out under a pile of rubble. Then a shadowy figure in a satin purple suit throws off the beams and blocks holing the rogue down. This figure then uses an inexplicable power to close up Ren's wounds and bring her back from the brink of death, disappearing before Rust gets to the body.

     Now partially disabled and pissed as hell, Ren begins adapting advanced prosthetic designs from EAT, now Dragon Advanced Technology to bring her back to working condition. The new prosthetics function almost as well as she needed, but her own body taking time to heal kept her from fighting back like she felt she needed to. She was properly brought down for the first time in her life and she definitely wasn't prepared to wait, so she gets to a point where she is healed "enough" to go back out and a final confrontation with Rust at her side finishes off the Northsider's leadership and the Red Queen had killed enough of the higher ups by herself to keep everything from reforming. 

     During this final confrontation, The Red Queen blows up the warehouse that Ren had been operating out of, so when she came home from the fight, she was met by 0ps in her wheelchair on the front lawn of the burning mess that was her home. 

     at the end of the year, she begins moving in to her new base of operations, an abandoned train yard situated over a portion of the hidden Undercity of Diamond.
