Background
Kaen was abandoned when he was a child, and grew up in the orphanage. His rough childhood caused him to grow up with extreme insecurity, where he would often get into fights with others as a type of self-protective mechanism.
He feels an affinity towards stray and abandoned animals who just like him, have been left alone and thus shows great care towards them, often spending his money on pet food to feed them with.
It was only when Ryuu became friends with him over their shared bond of music that Kaen started to find comfort and let his guard down. He even agreed to join the boy band AXIS as their lead drummer after Ryuu's persistent persuasion.
