About
Niens is the personification of "The Nothingness". A being, formed by and representing the void in its entirety. It isn't restricted to one single body but can appear anywhere, anytime and as as many as it wants to. After all the void is everywhere and only limited by the existence of other beings.
"Nothing will harm you."
It is a cunning creature, that enjoys directly messing with its 'prey' before devouring it. Especially slowly destroying its 'prey' from the inside, dissolving and absorbing it while keeping it alive for a while seems to bring a great enjoyment, as like this it can learn the most from other beings.
While it has no set appearance, it can change its form to whatever the void has devoured so far, including objects and beings. Its preferred form when dealing with humanoids is a male form and when using that, it usually goes by male pronouns to blend in more naturally.
Design
- No matter its form, it always has a white hair streak, horn or pattern formed like a zigzag line.
- Its right eye has a black sclera, white iris and black pupil. Its left one is inverted, so it has a white sclera, black iris and white pupil. Its pupils are slit-formed.
- It likes to appear with sharp, shark-like teeth in any of its forms.
- Niens' humanoid form can have either of light skin or gray as its main colour.
Skills
ShapeshiftingNiens can freely take any form it likes - provided the void has devoured that particular thing or being so far.
DevouringNiens can devour anything into nothingness. No matter what it is, the void will corrode it back into its very original form, Primal Energy.
One could compare it to having objects be corroded into the single fundamental particles that they're made of.
Niens can create distortions in space which reach into the void. The 'space' however, doesn't need to be an empty room, but can also be objects or beings, thus easily connect something directly to the void.
Relationships
In one way, Niens detests the creator for taking away space for the void. But on the other, he creates things and beings that the void can devour and corrode back into Primal Energy... which the Creator again can use to create something new. It is an endless cycle and they're simply the opposites of each other. So does it really detest him? Hard to say. Does it in a way enjoy it all? Kind of, after all, otherwise it wouldn't have found the joy in messing with Nereus' creations and ruining them.
Perhaps it is truly simpler to say, that after all, they can't exist without each other, so there's no need to any kind of feeling.
Niens and Jadzia have some sort of business relationship. Niens created the Guards that roam Jiesben and keep the utopian peace in it. Therefore, whatever disturbs the order will be devoured by them and thus feeds the void.
Of course, Niens is simply waiting for the moment that the Guards have spread enough so that they can fully devour Jiesben, yet... that's nothing to rush. The right time will come eventually, after all.
An isolated splinter of the void, that got stuck around a Widhoveak, yet also possesses some Primal Energy. Novis appears shows the same interest in messing with beings like Niens does and also devours them eventually. Due to the Primal Energy, however, his range of actions can go further, like creating realisitc illusions that will keep his prey captured.
Even though Novis can be considered a part of Niens, due to the Widhoveak they've been seperated and he now acts on his own without Niens' knowing about him.
Similar to Novis, also an isolated splinter of the void that also has a Widhoveak as its core. In the Poisoner's case though, the amount of void stuck is way greater and it acts more like Niens, including the dissolving from the inside and changing its form to whatever it has devoured.
The Poisoner can also act on its own and it not connected to Niens anymore due to the Widhoveak that created it.
